do you mean like ASCII art?

there are some free or trial programs that will let you convert graphics into ASCII text images, try these:

http://www.text-image.com/convert/
http://www.softforall.com/Multimedia/ImageEditing/ASCII_Art_Generator07050295.htm
http://www.glassgiant.com/misc_ascii.php

..or just Google for "ascii art conversion (http://www.google.com/search?hs=5j9&hl=en&lr=&safe=off&c2coff=1&client=firefox-a&rls=org.mozilla%3Aen-US%3Aofficial&biw=1005&q=ascii+art+generator&btnG=Search)"

normally you upload your pictures somewhere then use the <img> tags to point to the address where they are stored.... its the same as the [img] tags that you use to hotlink pics on this message board

To place an image on a webpage in HTML,

<img src=http://www.imageURL.com>

That's it. :)
