3 Charged With Murder of Teen in Aruba

ORANJESTAD, Aruba (AP) -- Three young men detained in the disappearance of an Alabama teenager have been charged with murder since their arrest more than three weeks ago, Aruba's chief prosecutor told The Associated Press on Friday.

The charges were not announced at the time to protect the family of 18-year-old Natalee Holloway, said Attorney General Karin Janssen.

"The three have been charged with the murder of Natalee Holloway from the beginning" of their arrest 10 days after the young woman went missing May 30, she said.

This is bizarre.

Withholding info to protect her family? No... her family WANTS the truth even if it is the inevitable.

I still think there's a coverup going on.

Most guilty people don't confess. They are tried in court and found guilty or not guilty.

Hopefully this will make the boys start spilling their guts and justice is done for the Holloway Family.

Nope... and no confessions as far as we know. The only thing that incriminates them is "They were with her the night she disappeared"

Officials don't even have evidence she is dead.

In Dutch history, there's only been 2 murder convictions without a body or confession.

I heard that one of the suspects did go as far as saying that he knew that whatever happened to her wasn't good. That doesn't sound like a totally innocent man to me.

Also, did they try to point the finger poorer workers at first? Apparently this happens quite often on these islands - the rich are able to buy their way out of trouble, but it was her family that intervened and the innocent guys were released and then these guys were picked up. That could be what they're referring to about protecting her family.

The suspects aren't telling where the body is, because they think without a body there's no case. I don't know about Aruba, but here in the US we have some tough prosecuters who can and have got a conviction without a body.

I doubt they will.

Aruba is a little bizarre...

TripperFan: Yes, I heard that as well(that was about 3 weeks ago), but after that it was kinda discounted like it was a false report, so I don't even know if it's true now.

I knew that about 3 1/2 weeks ago.

A month ago this morning was when I was first heard about this case. It's been a strange month to say the least.
