View Full Version : I Keep Waiting
Trish Marie 07-01-2005, 04:52 PM I keep waiting for American Dreams to return.
I guess it has just not sunk in yet that the show is history
... forever.
Everybody on the show lives on in my heart and I keep waiting to see them again.
This pretty much sucks.
Oh well, perhaps I just need more time.
:(

PrettyinPink55 07-01-2005, 07:52 PM I mourn AD pretty much everyday. :(
AD FAN 07-01-2005, 07:59 PM Its weird, every once in a while i think: ''I wonder what the Pryors are doing right now''. LoL. It hasn't hit me yet that it won't be back in the fall.
Maine AD Fan 07-01-2005, 10:03 PM Me too! I've never missed a TV show this much! I'll be really ticked if they don't come through with the other DVD's.
New AD fan 07-02-2005, 12:13 AM NBC mad a decision it will regret for years to come. At this time next year that will be all too apparent to them as well after all of their new shows have failed. Maybe then we could make one last ditch effort to ask the network to bring the show back.
The next 3 seasons could have been American Dreams very best, taking us through the most turbulent years of the 1960's, as well as the psychedelic changes to rock and roll. I so much wanted to see the Doors and CCR on Bandstand.
Trish Marie 07-02-2005, 03:58 AM Everything y'all said.
Thanks for helping me to feel less alone with this.
Trish

Unfortunately, quite a bit of the cast could be under contract with somebody else by now.

Dreamsluvver 07-02-2005, 06:46 AM Trish, I know exactly how ya feel. I can't really believe our beloved Pryors are not returning EVER, either. It just ain't fair, that's all!! I do hope NBC has a lousy season this fall and will really , really, really regret killing our Dreams. NBC sucks and I will never love another show like I do AD.

rusyd 07-02-2005, 03:06 PM I thought I was just silly, but I really miss AD. I get upset when I watch Season 1 because I know it won't be on anymore. The few people I know who watched it agree. It was a great show and will be missed.

I hope so too!!!  :cuss:
californiadreamin 07-06-2005, 03:14 AM I feel the same way! Its kinda stupid, but i seriously loved this show. I keep thinking about old episodes. I guess i've kind of gotten over the fact it wont be back, but i can still hate NBC
dreamsdreamer 07-13-2005, 11:53 PM you all are making me cry. in my mind i feel they are waiting to come back.
NBC SUCKS. they had a great show. why do networks push shows allover
and then say they didnt do well?
Trish Marie 07-15-2005, 04:00 PM you all are making me cry. in my mind i feel they are waiting to come back.
Totally.
The only hope is to buy the dang nabbed expensive DVD's so we can visit them anytime we please (and just hope and pray that they release the remaining seasons). I am in the process of still thinking about saving up for them.
Not very rich on this end.
*searching for a short pier to send NBC for a long walk on*
I am still not watching any shows on NBC. I would rather work.
Aaaaaaannnnnnd, I still cannot believe that we were left with Meg on the back of a motorcycle with that..... PERSON.
Trish
Maine AD Fan 07-15-2005, 10:13 PM My sentiments exactly, Trish. What a mind-numbing ending to the best series ever!!!! I still think it was totally out of character for Meg to blow off her family and friends for Chris. And that's a darned long motorcycle ride, even if he'd been worth the trouble!
I hope enough people buy the Season 1 DVD to justify production of Seasons 2 and 3. Also wish somebody could give us contact information for whoever makes this decision, so we can petition for the DVD's. That's probably the best scenario we can hope for at this point, but NBC only understands $$$$ and I worry that it may never happen. If we had a contact, then maybe all those other people who read these threads would jump in and lend their support.
:(
rusyd 07-15-2005, 10:27 PM I just want Seasons 2 and 3 to come out on DVD. But, still it won't tie up the loose ends they left us with. I am glad I am not alone in this unhappiness about one of the best shows on TV. :(

Chances are if the blockheads at NBC (Yes, blockheads) had not cancelled AMERICA'S show, the following week Meg would have come to her senses one block down the street, jumped off the bike, kicked Chris to the curb and high tailed it back home.
We will never get to see it.

Trish
Dreamsluvver 07-16-2005, 05:44 AM Now I am in tears all over again :( Yes, Meg should've kicked him to the curb and I hope MAYBE we will see it someday. We gotta keep hoping, guys!! What else do we have, at this point??? :(
