Hi
Does anyone out there in F Troop land know which episode has one of the cleverest slapstick sequences I have seen in it.
My recollection may be vague - it's years since I saw this - but it is something along the lines of Captain Parmenter in the post office places his hand a fresh stamp. The stamp image is then "followed" around the room in several steps with slaps on back etc until Parmenter hits the palm of his hand on his forehead producing the perfect stamp image. Brilliant stuff!
Also, any idea whether this episode is available on DVD?
Thanks

Hi;
He's actually not in the post office, but stamping letters in his office, and the sequence is in "V is For Vampire", from the second season. The stamp ends up on Parmenter's forehead, where we later learn it stays all day!
This episode is available on VHS in the "Foreign Visitors" Columbia House tape. This is one of the most highly sought after tapes, as it includes "The Phantom Major" and the favorite of many, "Bye, Bye Balloon".

Romany: *NEWS FLASH*!
My memory of Parmenter accidentally putting two fresh stamps on his forehead in "V Is For Vampire" is correct; HOWEVER, he ALSO gets his forehead "stamped" in "Reach For the Sky, Pardner" while hiding in a mail sack to help out O'Rourke and Agarn who are undercover as "simple mail clerks". Later, the ink stamp on his forehead is discovered and he and Jane (I believe) attempt to rub it off, it goes from his forehead, to his hand, to Jane's hand, and eventually back to Wilton's forehead!
"Reach for the Sky Pardner" is from Season Two, guest stars Charles Lane from "Petticoat Junction", and unfortunately is not part of the Columbia House series. This, and not the "V Is For Vampire" moment, might be the one you recollect. Sorry I didn't remember this one initially.

You are most definitely a wealth of information on F Troop, Forrest Tucker.
I have been searching for sources of the series and have come across an Ebay seller of the entire 65 episodes on DVD! Price is GBP 39.95 which would be about AU $100 (where I am) or US $70 (where you are). Sounds pretty reasonable to me.
Have a look at http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=35018&item=6415020758&rd=1&ssPageName=WD2V
Are you aware of this collection? Is it any good?
