Hey guys I'm new to the board, and I really love the show, and I cant find it on tv anymore....anyway I was in NYC this past weekend and in times square staying at the Marriot Hotel....in the elevator great view looking outside, I was wondering wow who is this guy next to me....and I asked if he starred in the Parent Hood and it was him! Robert Townsend ! He was so nice and very happy that I recognized him and he was nice enough to give me an autograph take a picture and also just chat for a couple of minutes. Great guy and great talking to him. Just wanted to let you know it was cool seeing a guy on tv and recognizing him in first person, especially Robert Townsend....awesome guy

Wonderful Hotel! The revolving lounge overlooking Times Square is an exciting place. Back in the 70's I was walking through Central Park and I spotted Geraldo jogging. He stopped to get a drink at a water fountain and a pretty girl walked by and watched her go by AND kept on drinking from the fountain at the same time! ........true story....

yes amazing hotel man and it was cool to spot him out in the elevator like that, very nice and friendly. He told me he was going to fly back to his home in LA the next day to go to the BET Awards with his kids. He told me he was in NY doing a tv-interview.

I wish i could meet Robert Townsend. He seems like a nice guy & a good person to talk to. I love The Five Heartbeats movie. I can watch that over & over again.

I wonder why the show didn't last longer:confused: . That show reminded me so much of the Cosby show:crying:
