Actress Melissa Joan Hart, best known as the star of TV's Sabrina the Teenage Witch, is expecting a baby with her husband Mark Wilkerson, PEOPLE has learned exclusively.

"I'm thrilled to death," says the star's mother, Paula Hart. "I'm so excited. Melissa is feeling great. So far, so good."

The 29-year-old actress is three months pregnant; the baby is due in January. This will be the couple's first child.

Hart and Wilkerson, the 28-year-old lead singer and guitarist for the hard-rock trio Course of Nature, met at a Kentucky Derby party in Louisville, Ky., in May, 2002. They were married on July 19, 2003, in Florence, Italy.


Hart's upcoming film Jack Satin is expected to hit theaters this year.

I definately thought she was only 26 or something.

I read that headline and screamed "Melissa Joan Hart is having a baby!" and then I leaped into the room. My mom thought I was losing my mind. I don't know why I'm so excited. I guess I liked Sabrina more than I thought.

I remember watching that show every Friday along with Boy Meets World. ahh...those were the days.
