I'm almost finishing the first Seinfeld DVD (Seasons 1-2) and I have to say that, although I love the episodes and the great amount of extras, I am very disappointed with the audiocommentaries. These have to be the WORST commentaries I've ever heard in a DVD ever! I can't understand how people so talented could have done such a lousy job.

It's a shame because I really love the show. :(

Well, in defense, it's pretty hard to be talking into a mike while the episode's playing in your ear, because it's distracting, and it's not that easy for them to remember tidbits from long ago (10-14 years) about the episodes.

That's exactly my point. They had nothing prepared prior to the commentary, they just seemed to be improvising as the episode went on. You could tell they REALLY hadn't watched the episode for 10-14 years. It showed laziness on their part, resulting in poor commentary insight.

All in all, I must say I enjoyed the commentary by writer Larry Charles, who apparently was the only one responsible enough to have prepared some notes.
