I was watching a episode of TCS today and it was the one when the Grandfather was pressuring Denise to Go to Hillman instead of letting her choose where she wanted to go. DamM he was a weirdo. I would have went where I wanted to go. Wonder Why they never pressured Sondra to go to Hillman-lol

I never thought of that, maybe we can blame the grandfather. Maybe Denise really didn't like Hillman and wished she had went to another college-lol

Sondra was already in college when the show began, she never lived at home untill after she was married. LOL!!

I know that, I was saying she should have been Hillman since it was the Family Tradition.

Watching the anniversary episode made me wonder: did they ever feature Clair's parents on the show, or was it always just Cliff's parents? I don't watch it often enough to remember.

I remember seeing her mother, but I can't get a image in my head of her father

Claire's father appeared in one or two episodes.

Yup - they were in a few for sure. As were Alvin's parents a couple of times.

I really didn't mind the grandparents. I'm sure many families have pressure because of "tradition" - not just in choices of schools but other things.

Grandpa Huxtable was annoying as heck. He told some of the most long, boring, fake, stories everytime he showed up.

I remember an episode where he answered the phone for cliff. It was one of Cliff's patients, and Grandpa asked her: How far apart are they? Since when did he become a doctor also?

The only Cosby Regular I enjoyed on ADW was when Dwayne visited Denise after she had left the cast because it sort of brought closure to her character on the show.

The grandfather was annoying when he...
practically begged Denise to go to Hillman (how small a school is it when your grandfather is still remembered by all the staff?)
Talked about his Jazz days
Told stories
showed up on screen...

 Great choice by Theo!

Anybody remember the episode where he was playing the trombone on stage? That was phony. He was off big time.

I had no major problem with Grandpa Huxtable. There were a few times that he got on my nerves like with the Hillman thing and him pressuring Denise to go there. Folks, we have to realize, there are grandparents who are out there that seriously can annoy their grandchildren sometimes more than the parents. I liked seeing the grandparents because it brought some kind of history to the show. The grandparents represented to me people of wisdome and knowledge.

This show stood out to me more so than others and was not as cliched as others. It was first class. I noticed the hip-hip thing as well during the last two years. It happened on "A Different World" as well Ratings for "World" seriously dropped in the last season. I am thinking it happened in part because "Cosby" was gone and "World" was not a strong lead in for must see tv and the show was more hip hop oriented.

You have to admit, that there was a tremendous change taking place. I mean Tupac, Kris Kross. Can you imagine them being on the show during season one with people like Millie and Maggie Lauten? LOL.
