Three Boys Accused of Tying a Dog to a Tree, Beating and Stabbing Her to Death (Presque Isle, ME)
Three teens who allegedly wanted to kill something "not human" are being held at a state youth center and under house arrest after they allegedly cut, stabbed and beat to death a dog that they stole from the yard of a local resident.

The three Presque Isle boys, ages 17, 17 and 16, were arrested in early June for aggravated animal cruelty and theft. Two of the teens were on juvenile probation from the Mountain View Juvenile Correction Facility in Charleston for prior felony crimes. Learn more about this case or go to the action alert.

Dog Hanged, Stabbed in the Neck During Domestic Dispute (Mesa, AZ)
A 23-year-old Mesa man upset with his wife reportedly tried to kill her dog by stabbing and hanging the animal six feet in the air with an electric cord, barbell and weights.

Salvador Rodriguez was arrested June 6 on suspicion of a felony charge of animal cruelty and criminal damage.

Rodriguez told police he tried to kill the dog with an eight-inch butcher knife after he found an e-mail from his wife to another man and found a photo of her with the man.

Pet-Abuse.Com is urging all concerned citizens to send a letter or email to the prosecutor in this case, asking for swift and vigourous prosecution. To learn more about this case and where to write, click here.

No offense, 80's fan, but I knew I shouldn't have clicked on to this thread. This kind of stuff infuriates me, too. I just read the first 2 stories. I knew I wouldn't be able to read the rest. This is why when I have my dogs out in the front yard, I stay out there, not leaving them out of my sight--talking about the 1st story(future Jeffrey Dahmers). Jail time isn't punishment enough, if you ask me. Nothing but pathetic human beings and I hope they quickly become somebody's b**** in jail!!

I have to admit, I skimmed the article myself because I can't stand reading about animal abuse. I get monthly newsletters from the SPCA and they give us updates of local cases - luckily they usually end on a happy note, but its incredible how much of this crap is going on all the time.

IMO, anyone who abuses an animal doesn't deserve to walk on this earth.

I'm fighting up here to get the laws changed to make the punishment more severe - I think they're even more lax than they are in the States - just infuriating!

What do Robert DeSalvo, Ted Bundy, and Jeffery Dahmer have in common, besides being mass murdering serial killers?

They all had committed violent acts against animals when they were kids.

It all starts somewhere folks. Anyone who would do such horrible things to an animal, particularly a beloved pet, has got to be watched.

Exactly!! One of the reasons they should be taking these incidents more seriously in the legal system. They usually move on to people.

I have to agree here! I think people who hurt animals are sheer punks, and are big wusses in my HMO!

Those freaks of nature were not from Des Moines, thank you very much. Now the reject who glued the puppy's eyes and ears and just about every other hole shut, he or she was. They still don't know who did that. I bet the dickweed is in hiding.

If someone ever laid a hand on my cat, I honestly don't know what I'd do. It's beyond my knowledge why people are so cruel to animals. It breaks my heart so much. I just wish there was something I could do, but unfortuantely, there isn't.

A few years ago my friend had put her 2 dogs outside in their fenced backyard and someone(they were never caught) took them and threw them onto the freeway! They were killed. She was just heartsick! :( This had been going on for sometime and no one was ever arrested. Sicko's! Creeps! Scum!

This thread hit me pretty hard.....

Years ago, probably in the 90s I lived 2 doors down from a guy who wasnt that nice to me.... He had 2 dogs on a leash in the backyard and someone put ONE DOG ON THE SAME LEASH and she choked to death..... (They released the other dog and put the 1 white dog on both leashes (Both were white and not small either))

No one saw who did it but this idiot thought I did it and he was quite mean to me after this....

I WOULD NOT EVER HURT ANOTHER LIVING CREATURE!!!!!!!!!! (I even have a hard time kiling mosquitos!!)
