I think its a definite possibility. Since she anchored the morning news, she left at the same time every morning and it happened to be very early when it was still dark out and hardly anyone would be around. But on the other hand, the morning she disappeared she was running late for work and wouldn't have been out there at her usual time so it could go either way.

Jodi was a pretty woman, I believe she was most likely abducted, possibly assaulted and then her remains dumped somewhere. I find it hard to imagine that she would just run off or something of that nature especially since she had alot going for her at the time of her disappearance, not impossible just unlikely.

I bet she was abducted, assaulted, and then killed. My only question is whether it was a planned abduction or a crime of opportunity. Since she was media it could have very well been a stalker.

Not a pretty scenario but I agree with you. I would guess she was targeted. Especially in small markets the TV personalities assume very high profile and cause of curiosity for the locals. My college friend started out as sports anchor of a small station in Odessa, TX. I visited him and couldn't believe all the stares and whispers when we went out to eat. For a while he got a string of weird letters telling him to go back to California where he belonged.

This was a very sad case. I remember seeing tape of the overnight anchor fillling in for Jodi that morning when she hadn't shown up for work. I bet it wasn't long before law enforcement described the scene in the parking lot and everyone knew it was a likely abduction.

Wow, Keith Nelson huh? Yeah Julie Ann Holmquist, I remember when she disapperaed. She was inline skating on a country road near Hallock which is a little town. It maybe has 3,000 people at most. Hallock is in the very northwestern corner of the state not that far from the Canadian border. She was skating and she disapperead. No one knew what happened to her. She was just 16 years old. They found her body a couple of weeks after she disappeared. She had been raped and I believe she was strangled if I remember right. I remember hearing someone was a suspect in it but didnt know it was Keith Nelson. Nelson must be some kind of traveling serial killer or something.

I missed it, are they any closer to finding out what happened to her?

They recently dug a farmer's property to determine if Jodi was buried there. But so far, no such luck.

I just saw this segment and was disappointed there were no real new developments... So that's good news.

Wow Holmquist stabbed? I didnt even remember that. I thought she had been strangled for some reason. I hope my memory serves me when it was revealed she had been raped. It seems this guy kills in very personal ways. Some hatred towards women or something. Never uses a gun. Was he shown to be in Minnesota at the time of Holmquist's murder? Or was his DNA found or something? I am surprised the cops havent tied him to Huisentruit yet.

The Ramsey County Medical Examiner mentioned the cause of death as repeated stab wounds to the heart and sternum area. A piece of the knife blade was in the seventh rib on the left side. The knife found in Nelson's van has a broken tip. The boyfriend of Julie Holmquist is asking for his class ring back. The Kansas City Police Department found it hanging on the rear view mirror. kadrmas 15 is a good guesser! Keith Nelson was rejected by a would be girlfriend years ago! He hates her so much that he kills ANYONE who looks like her! Jodi Huisentruit and Pamela Butler are nearly identical. Except Jodi was 27 and Pamela was 10 at the time of their abductions. Julie Holmquist and Pamela Butler were both rollerblading at the time they were kidnapped. The late Curtis Dale Cedergren was falsely accused of the murder of Julie Ann Holmquist. He was in Canada at the time of the murder and a Canadian Newspaper and a Canadian Politician can both prove this! This was within 20 minutes of the crime! The Minnesota Department of Public Safety had NO EVIDENCE linking Cedergren to the crime at all. And yet they went after him anyway! This according to the Minnesota BCA report! So why was he accused TWICE!? Nelson was seen by five witnesses the night of the crime and he was identified EXACTLY. Plus they even described his van. A white Ford Econoline van now in the custody of Kansas Law Enforcement.

Wow, I didnt know those side details about the case. About the knife blade being broken off and about Julie Holmquists boyfriend's class ring hanging on the rearview mirror of Nelson's van. If that isnt incriminating I dont know what is. This isnt the first time the Minnesota Department of Public Safety has bungled a major case like this. I think just a few years ago, like in 99 or 2000 maybe even later than that they finally caught that guy who had murdered people back in the 1970's and even into the 80's. I know he killed at least 4 people in the 1970's. A teenage girl in 1979 and I think either in the late 70's or early 1980's he killed a mother and three of her kids. I think he attempted to kill the 4th child too but that kid survived.
