I read there was a little bit of an uproar over the 30-second promo for The Real Gilligan's Island in which two actresses portraying Ginger and MaryAnn get into a pie fight. There is also a 60-second more detailed clip (which I have not seen) on TBS's website where it is very raunchy. It is only on there from 10PM to 5AM. What does everyone think of that promo and how do you think that Tina and Dawn feel to have their charcters portrayed that way?

If I were Tina or Dawn, I'd be offended. Ginger and Mary Ann were nothing like that on the show. Personally, I don't think the show is in any way related to Gilligan's Island. Except its name, I guess. I hate it! :(

The whole thing is a joke. They need to leave classic tv shows alone.

TV networks and Movie Studios have officially run out of ideas. That's why there's been an abundance of remakes lately.

The Real Gilligan's Island
The simple life (A take on Green Acres)
The new Honeymooners movie
The new Bewitched movie
An I dream of Jeannie movie is coming out
And even a new Munsters movie is coming out in 2006

And to be honest, all these remakes really suck!

I think that all the surviving cast should be offended.I just can't beleive that Sherwood is stuck in the middle of this.He must be terribly disapointed about this show.I'm sure it's not the way,he wanted it to be.

I have seen the clip on tv. It makes me sick because Ginger and MaryAnn were best friends on the island
