I admit I didn't like McCoy during those first few years. I thought he was an arrogant, overconfident, and smart-aleck jerk at first. The way he rubbed the police the wrong way.(Especially going after Lt. Van Buren on one show when it was his first year). But now he has kind of mellowed and his relationship with the police has since also gone mellowed that way as well. And he is now cutting them some slack. I don't know about you but I am getting to like him now that he has gone that way.

I like Jack as well. I think if he leaves the original law n order I won't be able to watch it anymore, too used to it now. Michael Moriarity was also good but in a different way. I agree McCoy seems a bit too harsh some of the time, but overall he just has great pizazz that livens up the series
