I just found this website today and I love it. I'm a huge UM fan and have been since I was little and getting scared to death by the episodes and Robert Stacks voice. I'm trying to remember some of my favorite episodes so I can ask ya'll about them. One I remember well is the one were the guy kept pulling up along side women on the highway and telling them they had car troubles. I remember they believe he killed one lady and he tried to kill another one but she got out of his truck. Thanks for any info.

Hi! Welcome to the board!!

Yes, thats one of the newer stories actually. I remember the victim's name was Alicia Showalter Reynolds but I don't know if anyone was ever arrested for her murder.

Maybe I'm wrong here.... but I think this is the one where the man (psycho) would speed up next to the women's cars, and then tell them that he saw sparks coming from the back. He’d offer to drive them to a mechanic, but then he'd lock the car doors and try to rape them. A few got away, but he ended up raping and killing one woman. I think that’s how it went.

Did they ever end up catching this freak? I can’t remember.

I remember it... it was one of the last episodes on NBC(around 1996). I seem to remember an update about them catching him, but it's been a couple of years since I've seen the case. The guy looked freaky.

Here's the link that has the composite drawing of the suspect in the murder:

The fact that this person is considered wanted is an indication that the case is still devoid of a resolution. :(
