Ok, I'm not sure if someone already posted these reasons or something, but this is just totally my opinion.

1. I think the big main reason is that they didn't introduce Vicky and even Phillip at the right time. The producers shouldn't have waited until like an episode before the finale. They should have introduced them maybe at the end of Season 7 or the beginning of Season 8 so the audience could get used to them and understand their personality. Also, it was so weird when both Jack and Janet fell for their lovers within like one episode. Totally wrong.

2. Not to be mean to the actress who plays Vicky, but I don't think Mary had a good chemistry with John. Everyone knows that if you want a good show, you have to have the right chemistry will all the characters, and they didn't have that.

3. The producers didn't give Vicky much of a personality. The first time she was introduced, it was kind of a love/romantic type of sitcom, and I think that people still wanted to see the comedy in it.

Exactly! I agree totally! Mary and John had NO chemistry what so ever! Even if they weren't going to use Joyce as his love interest, they should have picked someone he had good chemistry with. Also, Mary even said herself that she was not good at comedy acting and Three's Company is a comedy! Kind of ironic, isn't it?

I completely agree. Vicky should've been introduced much earlier. I think Mary Cadorette did a good job as Vicky, but Vicky was just such a bland character with little personality.

They didn't introduce Vicky until they did because at the time they didn't know that was the last season. The season before the show was still in the top 10. Mary was not a good comedy actress. I really think the only reason she was picked was because she was cute. Phillip I think was even worst then her. I think it was all rushed to fast and althout Three's A Crowd wasn't a bad show I would have prefered to see a 9th season of Three's Company and then let it end on a high note.

ITA! They didn't give people enough time to get used to the character and to love her like the rest of the gang.

That is the way Janet was suppost to be but Joyce added to the character! I think the producers were just to focus on making money and nto very much concentrated on the shows.

Yes, I agree with that too. They should have picked someone else who was good at comedy. All of the characters on TC were good at the show because they knew how to do comedy. Also, even if she wasn't good at comedy, the producers should have made the Jack/Vicky relationship with humor in it. I don't mind a little romance, but when I always watch Jack and Vicky, I feel like I'm watching a totally different show with drama in it.

Oh, I didn't know that. But the other thing is, they should have still introduced her earlier than they did even if they didn't know it was the last season. If they were doing things right, they would have already planned of making a spin-off and how to do everything. If they decided on a spin-off at the last minute, then these people don't even know what they're doing.

Yeah, you would think they would make Vicky's character more likable and funnier. Wrong actress, wrong type of character, that's it.
