This past year it was NYPD Blue, JAG, Judging Amy, Enterprise, Third Watch, etc. that ended there runs; here are the possible long running Drama's I think may wrap up next year:

Alias - a move to Thursday Nights may kiss it goodbye, plus it was a bubble from this past year.

West Wing - I think it will get squashed on Sunday Nights at its new timeslot, plus it was a bubble from this past season.

Numbers - considering it is getting beaten by Law and Order: Trial By Jury repeats currently this summer sure does not help matters considering Law and Order: TBJ is cancelled and not on the fall lineup.

Veronica Mars - well I do not see how this show got a second season and I don't think it will get a third season.

Smallville - ratings were down this past season, plus a move to Thursday Nights where the WB always bombs will be the kiss of death.

Everwood - ratings were down this past season, plus a move to Thursday Nights where the WB always bombs will be the kiss of death.

7th Heaven - I can't see it going past 10 seasons.

Charmed - bubble show for this past year, I think 8 years is a good enough run.

I think Charmed and West Wing are entering their last year. You can't look at Numbers summer ratings because a lot of people don't watch reruns in the summer. Smallville and Everwood could survive if the WB doesn't have to much expectations for them on Thursday. I know I'll continue to watch them.

One of them definately won't survive, the WB revamps there Thursday Night Lineup every year. The only reason I can see these two shows moving to Thursdays was because they are long running drama's and the WB knew if they debuted two of the 3 new drama's on Thursday's they would get cancelled quick. I say this is Smallville's last year and Everwood manages to survive, but gets off Thursday Nights before the season is over.

Charmed, I see this as the last year.. ratings did drop and SOME Charmed fans are not thrilled the show is coming back.. so Charmed should end.

This is The West Wing final season.. I watched the tv guy special.. The Fall Preview for all networks and someone stated.. might of been the producer, executive producer that The West Wing is in its final season.

7th Heaven was the WB top rated show last year, so unless someone leaves the show, the WB announces this year is the series finale or ratings drop {I think the ratings should stay the same} 7th Heaven should be good to go for another year after next...

The WB must of think Everwood could maintain its own on its new time slot because FOX and ABC are putting new shows and UPN has Cuts and a new show at the same time slot. Unless FOX and ABC new show have strong debuts.. Everwood should do fine..

I think West Wing will definately wrap up this year considering they pulled its Saturday Night summer run after 1 week and replaced it with Law and Order repeats due to low ratings.

I think that West Wing,Charmed, and hopefully 7th Heaven will end in 2006.They have been on for many years and in my honest opinion 7th heaven is a overrated show and I feel that the kids not counting the twins are turning into annoying brats sorry.

The twins are kinda boring but cute.I used to watch it but this Season was my very first Season I stopped and I will continue not to watch.I kinda outgrew it.It came out when I was a Senior in High school 96-97 for goodness sakes.

Charmed, The West Wing, 7th Heaven, Everwood, Smallville, Alias, and Gilmore Girls (if it hasent already ended) should end this year.

Gilmore Girls will be back for a 7th season especially if the WB loses Charmed and 7th Heaven and possibly Smallville and Everwood.

I think if they have Clark graduate and have him become a reporter have him & Lex become enemys(this one we know is gonna happen) and get him and Lois together, then Smallville will end this year.If not, then next year

West Wing has been in a steady decline for a few seasons now (though it is still a decent show) and this should be its last season. Hope it goes out on a strong note.

If we could have voted for more than one, I would have voted for Charmed, also. It hasn't been as good as The West Wing, but it has been entertaining within its limits, and that is all you can ask from a tv show.

Numbers and Veronica Mars have had increased ratings, so they will probably hold on for a decent run.

West Wing is dying on Sunday Nights as well as Everwood on Thursday nights.

I hate to burst your bubble, but it will take more than just one viewer to keep a show on, it takes millions in viewers(meaning ratings$$$).

I think if they have Clark graduate and have him become a reporter have him & Lex become enemys(this one we know is gonna happen) and get him and Lois together

At which point it would morph back 12 years and become Lois and Clark: The New Adventures of Superman.

I just want to retract my vote for Charmed.. I think the only way its going to end is if one of the three leads or all decide to leave. Ive been watching Charmed this year, and its been pretty good. For a show thats in its 8 season, I have to say its been delievering.. My vote now goes to the West Wing.

ABC pulls plug on `Alias'

Published November 24, 2005

"Alias" is going undercover for good.

The spy drama starring Jennifer Garner will end its five-season run in May, ABC announced Wednesday. The network promises a big finish.

The show "is not going to wind down as it comes to an end, it's going to rev up, and we're going to make it the event it deserves to be," ABC Entertainment President Stephen McPherson said in a statement.

The series was created by executive producer J.J. Abrams, who also helped create ABC's popular "Lost."

Airing on Thursday nights this season, "Alias" has struggled to hold its audience against the competition, especially CBS' "Survivor: Guatemala." Last week, "Alias" drew about 7 million viewers compared to about 19 million watchers for "Survivor."

Garner and her husband, Ben Affleck, are expecting their first child in late December. Her pregnancy was written into the show; globe-trotting spy Sydney Bristow is with child and still hard at work.

LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) - The Camdens will bid farewell to viewers in May when the WB Network's top-rated family drama "7th Heaven" ends its run after 10 seasons in what sources said was largely a cost-cutting move.

The Bluth clan of Fox's ratings-challenged "Arrested Development" is also headed for the exit after Fox cut the third-season order on the Emmy-winning comedy to 13 episodes.

Also getting the ax at Fox is "Arrested's" companion on Monday, the freshman comedy "Kitchen Confidential," whose order will not be extended beyond the initial 13 episodes.

"7th Heaven," whose debut on August 26, 1996, marked the first-ever Monday broadcast of the then-fledging WB Network, will bow out as the longest-running family drama on television.

After 10 seasons, the show is still a top draw for WB, averaging 5.1 million viewers this season to date. Creatively, the show also will go out in style, creator Brenda Hampton said.

"I think this is the best season we've ever had, and we're planning a very exciting and heartwarming conclusion to the series," she said. "On the show, we talk about choosing your feelings, and we chose to feel happy and blessed to have been on the air for so long."

There is talk about a potential "7th Heaven" spinoff, but Hampton admits that would be hard to do.

"('7th Heaven') is a family show," she said. "I think the success of the show is that the family is intact with the mom, the dad and the children, so it is a very difficult show to spin off."

Sources indicated that the reasons to take "7th Heaven" off the air were primarily financial. As series age, they get more and more expensive, with the price tag especially high for a show with a large cast like "7th Heaven." The cancellation of the long-running series also comes during a process of extensive cost-cutting across all Warner Bros. divisions.

As for the demise of "Arrested," it comes just as the acclaimed comedy came back this week after a hiatus to make room for Fox's baseball coverage. The two back-to-back episodes averaged a paltry 4 million viewers Monday, sending Fox to fifth place in the 8 p.m. hour and putting a dent on the ratings of its lead-out, the rookie drama "Prison Break."

There is a possibility that the show will be shopped around, but its high cost is expected to be prohibitive for a cable network.

Fox said Thursday that it will pull "Arrested Development" and "Kitchen Confidential" off the schedule for the remaining three Mondays of the November sweep, replacing them with a rerun of the previous episode of "Prison Break" leading into an original episode of the serialized drama.

"Arrested" and "Kitchen" are set to return to their time slots with original episodes December 5, following the fall finale of "Prison Break" on November 28.
