View Full Version : Was that Dick York at Statue unveiling????
hoosierelvisfan 06-22-2005, 08:48 AM I only got to see the last episode last night on TV Land of the Bewitched marathon. Anyway, during the commercials, they showed a little blurb about the unveiling of the statue. Was that Dick York sitting there clapping next to the statue??????? If it was, I wish that they would have shown a close up view and said something about him.

hoosierelvisfan 06-22-2005, 09:51 AM Oh, for some reason I thought that Dick York was still alive but that Dick Sargent was the one that died. I'm sorry to hear this. Well, anyway, who was that that was sitting there at the statue unveiling, I wonder?????

TripperFan 06-22-2005, 09:59 AM Both Dick's are Dead. Dick Sargent died of prostate cancer brought on by AIDS in 1994. :(
MadScientist 06-22-2005, 11:14 PM Dick Sargent did die of prostate cancer, but he was not HIV positive. When he found out that he was terminal he told friends that he was concerned that people would assume that he had AIDS because he had shortly before gone public with the fact that he was gay.
I don't believe that there is any shame in being HIV positive, but, as it happens, Dick Sargent wasn't.
TripperFan 06-22-2005, 11:20 PM Thanks for the correction, I was sure I heard that on ET in TVLand just recently.
Eric777 06-26-2005, 01:03 PM He died in 1994
BensonFan 06-26-2005, 10:53 PM I'm sure Dick York was there....in spirit. :)
Eric777 06-26-2005, 11:21 PM Im sure the whole cast was present in spirit
Hazel Anyday 08-19-2005, 11:01 AM The old geezer there on stage was Liz Montgomery's husband (former), the man who produced Bewitched and was a major part (behind the scenes) of this show. My mind though has blanked out on his name. But that was the man behind Bewitched and Liz's real life former husband.
Eric777 08-19-2005, 11:10 AM His name is William Asher
He was married to Elizabeth Montgomery and he produced Bewitched as well as I Love Lucy

The director's name is Bill Asher. He also directed many episodes of "I Love Lucy".:)
Dick York died in 1992...
i feel bad cause that made me laugh, not that he died, just that she thought she/he saw him and he died like 10 years ago
hoosierelvisfan 11-15-2005, 10:15 AM What's so funny about it either way?????? I was not aware that Dick York had died. Thus, as a result, I thought it might have been him on stage. I asked the question and got an answer. End of story. There's probably a lot of people that don't know that Dick York is dead. I certainly didn't and now I know. That's what these boards are for---for discussions and to find out information.
