I wonder if season 5 will have good sales since there will be no Florida? If season 5 doesn't sell, we might not get the sixth and final season released. I hope they wouldn't abandon a series with only one more season to go.

Regardless of how season 5 sells, season 6 will be released.

If they are up to season 5 of Good Times being on DVD, I see no reason why season 6 wouldn;t be released. Why would they stop releasing with one more season to go? So no matter how bad season 5 does in sales, season 6 will be released.

Does the show really start going downhill with season 5? I don't remember the episodes too well, and I'll find it hard watching with no Florida. I guess Janet "wardrobe malfunction" Jackson was her replacement? An example of "replace an adult with a child syndrome?" With Wilona as her adopted mother she should've been able to keep Janet covered up with those fancy threads from the botique.

Anyway, is Season 5 pretty much lackluster? Is it the worst out of the two remaining seasons?

Of Course it's the worst of the remaining 2 seasons, hell it 's the worst out of all the seasons because there is no Florida or James. And yes the show goes downhill from season 5 because it was the first time the show didn;t finish in the top 30 after being in the Top 30 for 4 straight seasons.

I'm surprised it came back at all after that. Even Esther Rolle returning couldn't save the show. I wonder if season 6 was meant to be the last, or if they wrote the finale, filmed it later, and showed it at the end of the season because the show became so bad?

I find it hard that it wouldn't
the famous eps about penny and child abuse
everyone likes that one
and when Thelma gets married
everyone complained about season four being bad
and now its season five
I find it interesting that everytime I watch a season that is deemed bad
its not that bad
its good
oh well
bring on seasons 5 and 6!

I think the DVD will do well in sales regardless if Florida is in this particular season or not, the reason there are a lot fans of this show who want to complete this series on DVD and also having Janet Jackson as an additional character, I believe will make the 5th season of DVD arouse interest in people.

I always liked season 5 over season 6 but thats not saying much. The last 2 season showed how far the show went down from its great beginnings.

I am ONLY purchasing the 5th season of this show so I can check out the cute clothing that both Willona and Thelma wore...

:yeahthat , both reasons. I love Florida like everyone else but I think people are over-estimating her influence in terms of whether people would buy the fifth season dvd or not.

To me, the fifth season was where Willona got serious about her life when Penny entered. In contrast to her past character in the first four seasons, Willona changed considerably. I would like to have the Season 5 DVD in my collection. Yes, the season did suck but i would rather whave the whole show than no show at all. I'm just glad that this show was ever released on DVD at all.
