How did this sitcom become so popular anyways?,
I never really saw a point to it. Was it all that funny.
I myself that was kind of dingy. But guess it wasn't after all
because it premiered in 1987 and ended in 1997.

well, up until the last season, it constantly scored good (at the time for Fox) ratings enough that they kept bring it back.

I do think MWC is something that should be offered everytime people mention how Ted McGinley kills tv shows. He was on the show for 6 1/2 seasons and didn't hurt MWC at all. Love Boat and Happy Days were both in decline by the time Ted joined, MWC was doing well and it continued to do decently for a long time afterwards.

i dont know if you could call it "ground breaking", but it definately had a completely different approach that had never been seen before at a time when sitcoms were getting pretty stale..

Their unique brand of humor was not for everyone - it drew quite a lot of protest during it's run - but they managed to keep the show fresh and funny (even if it was cheap humor most of the time) pretty much until the end.

true, even tho I'm NOT a MWC fan, I can see how it opened the doors for shows such as Roseanne and Seinfeld, in which not everyone is lovey-dovey best-of-friends at all times
