Actually there are a few ways depending on the programs you have. Is there another animation you would like?

Oh no, but thank you! I actually have no programs but I am thinking of purchasing a DVD drive for my computer...is that what is normally used? I want to learn how so I can make Jack Tripper "funniest moments" sort of thing

Hi Retro!

I'm not sure if this is what you are looking for, but I have used a program called "DVD to VCD AVI DivX Converter" which can create MPEG or AVI files from scenes in a DVD. Check out the link below, I downloaded the trial version.

PS: I got your email and the dance scene file. It was great stuff, so why does TVLand/N@N cut such an obviously entertaining scene.

Well, DVD drive helps if you have what you want to make animations of on a DVD. But technically speaking you don't NEED one if you have the video file on your computer. basically, you can make stills of what you want then put them together in an animation program, but there are some program that will "record" a gif file for about 30 seconds. Just depends on the program you use. Hope that helps!:D

Awww, thanks! That definately helps :) I will probably get a DVD drive soon, but if I don't-- I can always use the "Up in the Air" dance scene I have(the funniest Jack Tripper moment of all!) :D

Oh cool! Thanks for your suggestion, brasspounder. I will try that site soon.

I have no idea why they cut such an excellent part :( I'm sure they could've cut something else

Ok, so say I already have the video saved on my comp? I don't have a small file, but rather, a 4 minute clip I can view on realplayer. But I just want a particular scene...how do I go about taking that one scene out of that huge file?

Do I just hit "print screen" on several caps?

If you try that it's only a 50/50 chance it will work. If you do it that way though, you need to have a photo or graphics program open at the same time and you will have to take a picture then pause your video, paste your picture then start your video again and keep doing that til you get what you want. To make it easier on you, I would suggest finding a way to maybe change your realplayer format to a movie format or something like that. That would be a bit easier to deal with, but if you want, I can try to do it for you. (make the animation, I'm not sure about converting the file) :)

Hmm....that's true....I realized how tough it would be to take captures cause I'd have to go BACK to where I left off so it would look normal. So, print screen is out  I mean, you can attempt it if you'd like....would you like me to email the file to you?

Well, I can try it for you. I can't guarantee it will work, but I'll give it a go. ;)
