In the first season Mike had long hair, but it was pretty thin on top. After that, for the rest of his time on the series, he seemed to have a full head of hair.

View Full Version : Did Rob Reiner wear a wig? Brian Damage 06-16-2005, 10:54 PM In the first season Mike had long hair, but it was pretty thin on top. KayEn78 06-16-2005, 11:13 PM He did have a toupee (I think) for the rest of the series after the first season, because he was thinning a lot. -Kristi Orville Kruger 06-17-2005, 10:33 PM Yes. He absolutely wore a rug. When he did a guest shot on The Odd Couple as Sheldn, there was a scene where he pulls off an afro wig revealing not very much hair on his head. Just like his dad Carl. A baldie. :) TripperFan 06-17-2005, 10:39 PM Yup - sure did. I didn't know for sure myself until a few years ago when I watching an E! True Hollywood story about All In The Family. (Like Ted Danson on Cheers - I was shocked to learn he wore won the whole time)! Brian Damage 06-17-2005, 11:06 PM Yup - sure did. I have to say, I was fooled! treky 06-18-2005, 12:41 AM everyone was fooled! treky 06-18-2005, 12:48 AM Yup - sure did. I didn't know for sure myself until a few years ago when I watching an E! True Hollywood story about All In The Family. (Like Ted Danson on Cheers - I was shocked to learn he wore won the whole time)! I also saw that E! True Hollywood Story, and in one scene Betty Garret (Irene Lorenzo) was saying how the show became so popular that they couldn't even walk down the street sometimes, without getting mobbed by fans. Then she said "Rob Reiner could, because he would just take off his toupee and noone would recognize him." TripperFan 06-18-2005, 01:17 AM I also saw that E! Then she said "Rob Reiner could, because he would just take off his toupee and noone would recognize him." Yup!! I had nooooo idea! They made it so that even the "rug" looked like it was "thinning" a bit so was very natural. And I knew a lot of guys back then with a similar hairstyle and they really were thinning. You figured he'd go bald in his 40s type of thing - no idea it had happened by his mid-20s! Also to me, when you saw Jean Stapleton at the Emmys or something, she looked SO different from the Edith characters - obviously, but it would always surprise me still. TV DVD Fan 06-18-2005, 10:31 PM In the interviews on the Seinfeld DVD's where he appears as a Castle Rock Entertainment representive he seems to be bald. pat julian bozo 06-19-2005, 03:05 AM Wow I'm shocked. GeorgeWBushGOP 08-21-2005, 01:17 PM When he had no mostache for a few episodes it was hard to get used to. Thank goodness he grew it back. |
