I think the show is much more entertaining when Tony and the Girls are singing and dancing rather than doing comedy sketches. That part of the show was Garbage. It was still much better than the Brady Bunch Variety Hour-lol

I always enjoyed the singing on this show.My favorite part of the show during its first 2 seasons (they did away with this in the 3rd season) was during the last few minutes of the show.Tony ,Joyce, and Thelma would sing and then they would go out in the audience and get the audience to participate. It was entertainment in its purest form-no props,no scripts ,no lame comedy skits-just warm and funny interactions with everyday people.
The ability ot connect and interact with an audience is what makes a performer great . I have a lot of respect for the way that Tony Orlando could work an audience.
If anyone has these sections of the show on tape and would like to trade, please email me.

I guess you have at least 2 eps that will be on the dvd collection. They mention Jackie Gleason and Milton Berle but not Art Carney. I plan on getting it even though I haven't seen it in 30 years, I remember liking it.

The ep from 1976 I have is a CBS version with all commercials. Something no feature on a DVD can compete with-lol

I just ordered this DVD (because I searched EVERYWHERE IN LA for it and I could not find it), but I am definitely looking forward to the music and the glittery costumes that the girls wore... :)
