I watched the episode "The Dinner Party" where everybody thinks that Gertie's meatloaf is made out of pet food. When Willona comes over after her dinner got burnt and she wanted to know if she could come and eat with them, that's when we know that Willona has a wig on because when James,J.J,and Michael each get up and pull on Willona to get her to sit down and eat with them, her wig nearly falls off and Willona is seen pulling up her wig. That was very funny.

Although I have this episode on DVD, I actually saw it for the first time in a decade on the TV Land marathon. I saw that part and I fell off my chair laughing.

Is there an episode that shows Janet DuBois' natural hair?

I think the last seasons episodes were when she showed her natural hair. Maybe, I don't know. Have you ever seen that movie, "I'm gonna get you sucka". Ja'net is in that movie and her hair very much resembles her hair in the "penny is abused" episodes. But of course, she still could have been wearing a wig, just that by that period of time it didn't seem so different each time. It pretty much stayed the same.

You're right, I just saw "Sex and the Evans Family." She had a fro.

One thing I couldn't understand was that it took JJ's "blessing blooper" for Gertie to realize what's going on. "So that's it". The family was giving her hints throughout the table, Willona especially. How about when everyone jumped up for Willona to have their seat, the family passing the food around as if they didn't want. Even James said he wasn't pretending and JJ says "bye" when she talked of leaving if know one would eat her meatloaf. And she STILL didn't get it.

As Florida would say, "this is the right place to take a chance"

If you ever get a chance to watch the movie Five on the Black Hand Side she wore her natural hair ever though it was braided. She played a character called Stormy Monday.

Also the girl that played their alcholic cousin on Good Times was also in that movie along with Glynn Turman and Clarice Taylor (Grandma Huxtable).

She had her natural hair in those telephone commercials recently.
