In Episode #173, "Ghost Story," when the gang are at Laverne's apartment running the race course (recreating the 1932 Olympics--Rhonda was representing Sweden) the song "Chariots of Fire" by Vangelis plays in the background. While L&S was taking place in 1967 at this stage of the show, "Chariots of Fire" came out a lot later, in 1982.

Did anyone else notice this error?

Well, it doesn't really matter if it's background music. I mean, if they were performing it or the characters were actually listening to it, it would matter. It's just as if you're watching L&S and listening to music at the same time. The characters on teh show couldn't hear it, so technically it wasn't part of the episode, just some music in the background for the audience.

On the series "The Wonder Years" almost all of the music featured was songs that were recorded prior to the time being represented between 1968 and 1973 (Remember, the show was filmed from 1988 until 1993.). There were a few exceptions, such as "We've Got Tonite" by Bob Seger, which didn't come out until 1978.

In "Ghost Story" they played "Chariots of Fire" in the background; that was the same way the music was presented to the viewers of "The Wonder Years."

Well, not exactly... the music on The Wonder Years is used to set the tone for the series... it's a nostalgic look back at that time, done very convincingly. Same can be said for the use of the Chariots of Fire theme being used on L&S, as it was used to set the tone. But it is nothing more than that; it is not an integral part of the storyline.

Plus, Laverne and Shirley has *never* been effective at portraying 1950's/60's life and times. The entire series seems to be set in the late 70's and early 80s, IMHO.
