Accused Child Molestor Gets Off

ah, not so good, should word that differently.
Unless there is a kid in the limo, which is not so far fetched.

I dunno - I'm a little more hopeful now that he'll get it on one charge at least because it took them a while to come to an agreement. Although it could be reduced to a misdemeaner - giving alcohol to a child (but not for the purposes of molestation). Usually if a jury comes back quickly, its a no brainer guilty or not guilty.

I can't remember how long it took the jurors in the O.J. trial.

Any bets he's going to make a detour to a hospital on route to the courthouse today????

Oh dear God he better go to jail.....

When he goes free, which he will, it just reminds me how a jury of aour peers is not my peers and not the peers of anyone I know.

I don't have presumption of guilt, but this case is text book for anyone not famous, otherwise all this judgement is seriously clouded.

I agree. The worse part are the people going, "yeah, he did this and that", like they were actually in the room with him and the kid. No one really knows. Just because you're found innocent or guilty doesn't mean a thing. Innocent people go to jail and guilty people get off all the time. Most jurors aren't that bright so it's hard to tell where you're going to end up.

The real question is this: What type of parent would leave their kid with Michael Jackson when there is a huge doubt about his character?

I'll just leave it at that.

I have to admit that I've wondered why more children wouldn't come forward - that if he really was a molester, there HAD to be more - and just no one ever took the opportunity. Guess these really were just scammers.

Meanwhile, the guy's nearly broke and his reputation still smeared forever. I sure wouldn't want to be him for all the money in the world.

If he were an ordinary citizen.... parents wouldn't be trying to take advantage of him at the sake of their children.

The thing is, he's not an ordinary citizen. Which completely alters the case, in every way possible.

I don't believe he did, and I'm glad he's been exonerated.

I just want to add, for all of you who watched the verdict on ABC.... was I the only one that found it hysterical when Charlie Gibson said "Michael Jackson has just been found guilty on all 10 accounts. (stall about 4 seconds) Did I say guilty? I meant not guilty."

Like someone said what does this verdict hold for anyone being tried for child molestation, there was plenty of evidence that pointed at his guilt, IMO he got off because he's Michael Jackson, just like OJ got off because he was famous as well

You don't convict someone to send a message to other people on trial. I followed this case VERY closely. The prosecution had a weak case. It came down to he/they said -- he said. The jury believed Michael.

No comparison to OJ. You're talking to an expert on the Simpson case here. There was a mountain of evidence.

Neither do I. Just saying that the other day. Remember how Elvis looked shortly before his death (or at least you've seen pics and movies) - I see a similar pattern here - only not with the bloating - but I see a man who's self-destructing.

You could tell he REALLY was in pain as he came out of the courthouse - its the first its looked real to me.

I've followed this whole thing very closely because its a subject that I've been through. And I have to say, if I had been on that jury, with what they were given, and the law saying "reasonable doubt" - there was reasonable doubt through the whole thing (which I don't feel there was with O.J.). Even being a former victim myself, had I been on the jury, I would have had to let him off.

I'm a big Elvis Presley fan so I remember. One of the networks actually televised his last concert shortly after his death and I couldn't believe how bad he looked. Jackson has been self distructing for years and his family should make him get help whether he wants to or not. The problem is he's such a big star and really the leader of that family that they're scared to do anything.

Their have been times I felt sorry for him because I remember what he used to be and I see a man that has deteriorated before our eyes.

I still believe he's guilty though. You don't sleep with all those kids in a secluded room when they are not your own if something fishy isn't going on.

Do you know I just heard that Katherine Jackson accused Tom Sneddon of having family members in the KKK?? I couldn't believe it! He stated at a press conference that the media should investigate some of these accusations before they print their stories because they would find them false. So at least some in his camp were trying to pull the race card early in the trial.

Come on folks - I am so sick of this race card thing everytime a black celebrity is accused of something. Let the facts state the truth for themselves.

Something I don't get... what's with all of the ugly, boxy SUVs the Jackson family has?
If I had all that money (or the money Michael used to have), I would either own some stretch limos (like the one in the first photo below), or a few more of the classic, factory-built limos like my '76 in the second photo. I mean, look at the interior of that stretch limo- why would someone want to ride in those much smaller SUVs (which cannot have anything near a limo ride because their suspensions are essentially truck suspensions) when they can afford the big, elegant limos?

TripperFan
06-13-2005, 10:45 PM
Frankly, I don't see what the craze is all about with these SUVs and especially the HUmmers!! Where we live, everybody drives them because of the hills and winters, but we won't give in - I hate them - they have no imagination to the design and look like HUGE shoe boxes on wheels! They're also dangerous in accidents with us little guys (I've got a Sunfire GT) and they think they're invincible in snow and ice - meanwhile, they're so heavy, they actually take longer and harder to break than the rest of us.

And that's my rant for the evening. Thank you. :soapbox:

OMG, I really thought he was going to be convicted. I guess there just wasn't enough physical evidence to convict him, even though most of the testimony was lenient toward a GUILTY verdict, IMO.

I like this guy as a musician and as a performer. As a person, he's WEIRD! I say lock him up in his Neverland ranch for a while and cut off all of his Internet and phone access!

One talk show host said if he was in jail, there would be no big difference because look at his life at Neverland...
- Rarely leaves
- No female companions
- Surrounded by males (boys, in his case)

So how would jail be different? :D

That really is true... he was black in the '70s, kind of gray in the '80s, and now he's white!

It's so sad really. I don't know of anyone else with that skin condition that needs "white" makeup. Plus the evidence of skin bleaching tubes from hotel room garbage. Why is he so ashamed to be black? I can't see a bad body image thing, but why that? As a young teen, I had his, Donny Osmond's and David Cassidy's pics up all over my room. I thought he was great looking. He should have stopped after the first nose job at MOST (and didn't even need that imo). He doesn't even look human anymore.

Yeah, I don't know why he all of that plastic surgery. What's funny is he would look better today if he didn't change a thing!

I think Michael has Vitiligo, which might explain why he changed colors.

I know someone who had that. I think it happens in patches, not the whole body at once.

A newscaster on a local station (KABC 7) said that one of the jurors thought that Michael Jackson had molested boy before, but not in this case.
I'm surprised he said that!

As I said, if the acusser and witnesses were more credible, Mr. Jackson just may be sitting in a jail cell right now.

Yes - I've known a couple of people who've had it and it does happen in patches - and even the patches without pigment aren't pure white like that. Something's not quite right with his story about that. Its like when Suzanne Somers is the only woman on earth requiring liposuction after a lumpectomy - it just doesn't happen!

Part of me really feels sorry for him. So messed up, all that money that could get him the best help in the world, yet he turns his back on it all.

It probably IS only in patches. It's probably easier to "bleach" his skin than darken it.

I would think bleaching it would be a lot more damaging to skin than using today's self-tanners and bronzers. I have a skin condition myself called Lichen Planus (a weird relative of eczema sort of) and went to a clinic at a hospital I was being treated at for makeup to cover skin conditions. I even asked there about Michael's bleaching and the woman just shook her head. She said she's never heard of bleaching as a treatment for Vitiligo but she showed me the heavy pancake makeup they advise people to use and it was all varying degrees of normal skin colour - from light to dark - but no white and no bleach. But as we know, Michael has never followed the usual path on anything.

Is it pure white or just a lighter area than the rest of your skin? I guess you have to protect it more with SPF than other areas eh?

Vitiligo (vit-ill-EYE-go) is a pigmentation disorder in which melanocytes (the cells that make pigment) in the skin, the mucous membranes (tissues that line the inside of the mouth and nose and genital and rectal areas), and the retina (inner layer of the eyeball) are destroyed. As a result, white patches of skin appear on different parts of the body. The hair that grows in areas affected by vitiligo usually turns white.

I'm not sure if I actually do have Vitilgo... the Dermatologist said it's a theory. I've got a patch on my right knee that's kind of like a spotty white place. The spots are so close together, you might think it's a whole patch, but its really just a bunch of spots. The derma. told me i don't have any pigment cells in that part of my skin...I mean, i've had it since i was about 8 or 9, cause my mom wnated it checked out to make sure it wasn't cancer or something... but no, actually i don't have to watch it w/ SPF no more than I do the rest of my body. I don't have it everywhere... my doctor said I was lucky, some people have it on their face and stuff, i've just got it on my knee.

Why did Michael always lock his bedroom door (when the boys were sleeping with him) and why does he have videocameras taping in the hallway?

That I can see if you're that pale to begin with! ;)

I'm the opposite - have a fairly small dark birthmark on one thigh - and did have a port stain one right between my eyes at birth - luckily it faded!!

TVNewser

> "Between 4:43 and 6 p.m. Monday, the roadblocked coverage of the Michael Jackson verdict drew a total of 24.6 million households on 11 English language networks and two Spanish-language," according to Broadcasting & Cable.
> Court TV delivered a 3.4 rating between 5 and 5:15pm. It "marked the largest audience ever delivered" by the network, Multichannel News says.
