Although it's a weak theory there is a possibility that Escrow agent Charles Morgan whose case was profiled on UM in 1989 might have been a victim of a contract hit by crime syndicate leader Joe Bonanno. Bonanno who was involved in many mafia related scandals in the Arizona area from the 1960s passed away in 2002 with Bonanno's son downplaying the activities of his father saying that the mob as it had existed in the Arizona area is a shell of what it used to be although he did freely admit that his father "ran a crew of 25 to 30 men in Arizona that was into gambling and shylocking but never admitted to any crimes of violence."

Charles Morgan was an associate of Joe Bonanno as he did escrow work for him. Joe Bonanno in those days was very active in many real estate investments in Arizona. Charles Morgan in what officials still contend to this day to be a suicide simply clad in a bullet proof vest walked out into the desert and shot himself. Although it can be considered a weak link in a chain of Morgan's subversive activities mostly having to do with a substansial (over 1 billion dollars a month) side income derived from dealing gold and silver with what seemed to be many underworld figures, Joe Bonanno does figure in to Morgan's life and it is possible that in dealing with Bonanno's escrow accounts that Charles Morgan found out a little too much about the alleged "don" and was silenced.

I still personally think that Morgan was a victim of a contract hit by some rogue government agents who realized that Morgan was a threat to them and had to be "eliminated" but this is an interesting theory.

;) - personally speaking I'm not sure if I believe this as well but I did choose to share it with you as it was pulled from a article I found on google and like many other regulars we post the information we find for the group's consumption. I believe his death was because of a contract killing and I believe the same thing happened to Dan Casolaro and almost to Don Devereaux but that was a botched hit and unfortunately Doug Johnston got killed instead. I'd really like for someone to blow the whistle on the government officials responsible as I'd hate to think they would get away with murder.

The Bible verse that “Green Eyes” quoted for Ruth Morgan on the telephone was Ecclesiastes 12:1-8

And here are the clues that were written on the $2.00 bill –

Written on the bill were 7 Spanish names beginning with the letters “A” through “G.”

*Beejarano
*Cajero
*Duarte
*Encinas
*Fuente
*Graoillas

Above the names was a notation – Ecclesiastes 12 with the verses 1-8 drawn by arrows on the bill’s serial number. (This was the same Bible verse that “Green Eyes” had mentioned to Morgan’s wife just a few weeks earlier.)

On the back of the bill, the signers of the Declaration of Independence were numbered 1-7 and a crude map was drawn.

(The map is of some roads that exist between Tucson and the Mexican border going out to a place called Robules Junction and then going south through a little town called Socity. (sic?) It’s an area that would most likely be involved in smuggling according to Don Deveroux.

I looked up the verses in the bible (Ecc. 12:1-8) if you are interested.

(1) Remember your creator in the days of your youth, before the days of trouble come, and the years draw near when you will say, "I have no pleasure in them";
(2) before the sun and the light and the moon and the stars are darkened and the clouds return with the rain;
(3) in the day when the guards of the house tremble, and the strong men are bent, and the women who grind cease working because they are few, and those who look through the windows see dimly;
(4) when the doors on the street are shut, and the sound of the grinding is low, and one rises up at the sound of a bird, and all the daughters of song are brought low;
