Howdoulikemenow333 06-08-2005, 07:54 PM I had this headach all morning and still have it this afternoon, I took some extra strength Tylenol, but it does'nt seem to help, the pain is just on one side my right side of the fore head it's just pounding away,I feel kind nausea also, good thing I have the next 2 days off,but right now I have to do laundrey, after that I think I amgoing to lay down and go to sleep, sleep always takes the pain away(sometimes) I also have a pain in my right shoulder i think that has something to do with it also.
Courtnee 06-08-2005, 07:55 PM try laying down and putting a cool cloth on your head
Max Whittaker 06-08-2005, 07:58 PM Get some rest. If the pain doesn't go away, you might want to consider seeing a doctor...
dawsongirl 06-08-2005, 08:55 PM Tylenol sucks. Try Advil next time. And if you get a lot of these, see a doctor. They might be migranes.
marmalade 06-08-2005, 09:11 PM If I have a really bad head ache, none of the OTC stuff works for me. I usually have success with ice packs though.
swedeace 06-08-2005, 09:33 PM Sounds like a sinus headache. Have you tried sinus headache relief medicine?
Johnny Five 06-08-2005, 10:00 PM You know what causes headaches, don't you?

That's a migraine headache alaska - regular pain killers won't help at all I'm afraid. I'll bet you're also sensitive to light. You'll find once it goes away in a day or two, you'll get what I call a "migraine hangover" from it. Where the pain has eased, but your head feels like its filled with cement and you're still groggy.
See a doctor about this as soon as you can and describe it in detail to him. He should be able to prescribe something stronger for you to take when you get them.
Did you notice an "aura" just before the headache started? I get what they call "auras" about 20 mins. before the onset. It's like flashing/floating coloured lights at the outer corners of my eyes. Whenever I get it, I know to take my painkillers immediately to get a head start on the headache. They're much more effective then. Not all people get the warning, but if you do, it's actually quite helpful.
Hang in there. I've had migraines since puberty. I also got bad tension headaches about 4 years ago because of the stress at work. They could last up to a week and would go down the back of the neck and into the shoulders. Hard to say which is worse - they're both awful. :(

That'll do it alrighty!!!
Whenever I drink - before going to bed, I grab a couple of asprin and drink as much water as I can. The hangover headache is actually the brain being dehydrated. I heard about that trick a few years ago, and have never had a hangover since!! The water is the real key!
TripperFan 06-09-2005, 12:14 PM I agree with swedeace. It sounds like a sinus headache. Either try taking some sinus medicine or Aspirin. I sometimes get sinus headaches and Tylenol never helps. Aspirin is the only thing that helps when I have a sinus headache. Sinus headaches are a lot worse than regular headaches in my opinion. Sinus headaches hurt a lot more.
Actually sinus headaches are at the front of the head and into the face. It sounds more like his are on one side of the head which is a typical migraine.
Geez, I've had sinus headaches too (had to have my sinuses and ears drained when I was 13 - it got so bad I lost most of my hearing because of it). They're nasty too.
Sounds like I've had just about every headache possible except for "cluster" ones which are more common in males.
I can't stand headaches!
Sinutab is pretty good for sinus headaches. That's what they put me on for them. Also breathing in steam to help loosen them helps.

Good - glad to hear your better at least! I've never heard of Ambtan - is it a prescription or OTC drug?

hmmmm - still haven't heard of it. If its over the counter, it must be available in the U.S. only. As long as it works for you!
