View Full Version : I need some help...
FOLrocks1 06-08-2005, 01:52 PM I'm want to start writing a movie to film over the summer but I really need a plot for it. I want to to be a zombie movie (i.e. Dawn of The Dead (79) and Night of the Living Dead type). It has to be able to be done by high-schoolers with little money (no helecopters, tanks, big explosions) I would really appreicate it if someone could come up with an idea.
I want it to be about everyday people, but there has to be conflict between the characters....also there has to be some sort of goal that they are trying to reach. Any help would be awesome.

How about: High schoolers go on field trip/nature hike in the forest(trees can give it a spooky atmosphere just by themselves, especially dead ones), and get lost and lose their teacher/guide. They'll find him a little later... well, at least part of him. Heh heh.
That's when things really start to go wrong.
Besides the rising tensions between the students trying to find their way out of the forest, they also have to contend with an steadily increasing influx of undead ghouls, who apparently are coming out of the muddy ooze in a spot deep in the forest where they have all been buried. They are victims of the mob, or a serial killer, or whatever else that has been killing them and burying them there in this now damned ground. Of course, we don't learn any of this until near the end of the movie.
The conflict between the characters is easy, especially with high-school kids, just make the characters a microcosm of the different high school cliques. You can have the jock, the nerd, the druggie, etc. The conflict between the high school social classes basically writes itself. It can be sort of like The Breakfast Club, with zombies. :D
Ok, that may not be much of a plot. But hey, it has Zombies in it! How much plot do you need?! ;)

sorry... that makes me laugh
if you want to write a movie, give it more than just a few minutes of thought... brain storm, get the people who you are wanting to act in it sit down w/ you and everyone throw ideas around the table. the quality you get out of it will reflect the quality work you put into it.

You're right, you need to put alot of time into it and you will come up with something good.

Hollow 06-08-2005, 06:43 PM That's easy. make it about a guy whose favorite show Gumbel 2 Gumbel gets cancelled so he tells everyone that his son is terminally ill with tumor-syphillis-isis-osis and his last wish is to have gumbel gumbel put back on the air, but when his wife finds out about it he must tell them the truth, but instead he tells them that he is a miracle worker and he healed his son, so everyone starts worshipping him as if he were god and then god gets pissed off at him and reinforced the plagues, and just as he is about to strike the man's son dead, he apologizes, and everything goes back to normal. i don't know. making up ideas for stories is a huge pain in the ass. i, on the other hand, am recording a demo cd over the summer. it's so much easier to write music than stories. yayy.

Since I've written many things in the past I know what it is I need to do. For the past 2 weeks I've sat down and have been tryiong to come up with something. I've had a few ideas but none of them I liked well enough to continue with.
Thanks to Sterling Holobyte for your idea. I didn't mean for that last paragraph to sound rude, but I wouldn't ask people without trying to do that first.
