When we put people on the ignore lists, wouldn't be a shamshing idea if we couldn't see the "SO_member123 has been ignored" thing? It should just be like they haven't even posted. If this is confusing....ask me to clairify.

Many people across many forums using different software have suggested the exact same thing. At current time, the feature isn't available across the bulk of platforms, and developers aren't in any rush to add it. Sorry.

Good point. I've used the ignore features on several boards and I always end up reading what they said(don't want them talking about me  ).

i find it nothing but inconvenient that we can still see where the posts by members on our ignore lists are (although if that cant be changed, i understand) but if someone gets put on global ignore, even if they're not on our ignore lists we can't read their posts no matter what. i've been pissed off more than once by someone getting put on global ignore when i wanted to read their posts, and it's not fair that i can't. what's the point of it anyway? i guess it could be so that they think everyone can read their posts but notice no one's replying so they stop posting at their own will or something.. but if that's the case, we should still be able to see the posts but not be able to reply to them, that would make more sense. I know what you mean, but wouldn't it put you through the ceiling if the person who was on global ignore making stupid and/or insulting comments in general or even more so, towards you or people you like and you couldn't comment back? I think that would just get people's blood boiling.

Actually I've found it funny when somebody's put on global ignore and they keep on posting for days or weeks and not even notice that nobody's responding to them.

I thought global ignore was a last resort for someone who might have been banned, but kept registering under new screennames and it was a permanent way of getting rid of them. That's why I found it odd that when someone who was recently on global for quite a while was taken off and all the posts were intact.

There's no WAY I'd want to put people on ignore. I want to know if they're out there trashing me!! :grr:

I only had someone on my ignore list once, but I ended up reading their posts anyway

btw, when your ignore someone, can they PM you? I don't put people on my ignore list anymore, I was just curious.
