View Full Version : Spin-Off with Lindsay Wagner gscottnyc 05-09-2001, 02:39 PM Does anyone remember the name of the attempted spin-off starring Lindsay Wagner? I think she was a night school teacher. TV Guy 05-29-2001, 03:52 PM "The Bionic Teacher". Seriously, I don't remember this. The only spinoff attempt I remember was with Andrea Martin as the manager of the local cable station. janecurtinfan 08-01-2001, 10:53 AM It was called "Late Bloomer" robby76 07-27-2008, 10:27 AM I just watched "Late Bloomer" on the season 3 dvd set. That episode was highly odious! I'm not surprised it never spun a series of it's own. Lindsay Wagner's acting was atrocious and the supporting cast weren't much better either. I felt so cheated for having this dire attempt for a spin off as the K&A 3rd season ender. The jokes weren't even remotely funny. I could almost see Kate and Allie cringing at the script during their "cameo" scenes. Also very weird to see Allie's future boyfriend Bob as Lindsay's love interest. He was obviously the only thing the producers felt worth keeping. lol Jude The Obscure 07-27-2008, 10:51 AM Doncha just hate when producers use a hit series to launch a show that really has no relation to the parent show??? jayman75 08-03-2008, 09:20 PM Doncha just hate when producers use a hit series to launch a show that really has no relation to the parent show??? But if it had direct relation, it would need to be part of the parent show. There have to be distinguishing characteristics for a spin-off to work well. Jude The Obscure 08-03-2008, 09:35 PM Stating the obvious :) Had Lindsay Wagner's character made, say 3 or 4 appearances on K&A, it might have been more believable. catlover79 08-04-2008, 12:00 AM "The Bionic Teacher". They already had most of Season 4 (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Kate_%26_Allie_episodes#Season_4_(1986%E2%80%9387)) in the can but around that time Susan Saint James was pregnant. So Season 4 was shortened, and they were a part of Season 5, so it killed the show, essentially. CJMD03 09-05-2023, 02:28 AM I don't remember it either. It was an atrocious show called “Roxie.” One lone episode is on YouTube. Two were aired and the rest unaired. I don’t even think you could call it a spinoff because the character’s name was changed, as was the boyfriend, supporting cast, etc. CJMD03 09-06-2023, 10:23 PM Stating the obvious :) Had Lindsay Wagner's character made, say 3 or 4 appearances on K&A, it might have been more believable. Even with that there’s no way this show would have worked. Absolutely awful. |
