Does anyone remember the case of Malaika Griffin? She was featured in a 2001 segment of Unsolved Mysteries. At the time, she was wanted for the 1999 murder of her neighbor Jason Horsely. Well, she's not wanted anymore. She has been captured after being profiled on America's Most Wanted this past Saturday (June 4). It was the eighth time that she was profiled on AMW! That may be a lot, but as the old saying goes, persistence pays.

Below are two links. One is a recent article on her capture, and the other is her UM profile (especially for those unfamiliar with the case).

It's about time. That totally made my day. I just saw that AMW last night on my tivo. That lady really hated white people. They've profiled their most wanted people so many times, I have no idea how they've managed to stay ahead of the law.

Good for her. That $#%&@!!! Like John Walsh said, "Chalk one up for the good guys!" I actually saw her profile this past weekend. Good work indeed.

I'm glad they caught her - I hope she gets put away for a very long time that is if she is not given the death penalty - Friggin Moron.

Later.

Looks like she should have stuck to fast food.

As the Unsolved Mysteries link indicated as a possibility, Griffin was working in the field of her education, for a biotechnology firm. They might not have nabbed her at Arby's.

I lived briefly in El Cajon in the late '80s. Capture might be a plus.

That was one of the most senseless and cowardly murders UM has ever profiled. Kudos to AMW for keeping it in focus and finding that fleshly waste.

I hadn't thought about that case in ages. But once I read about it, it all came back. That's why I'm so glad I've found this site.

Thank god they found this nutjob. No matter what Jason did to appease her, she would just keep escalating the threats and violence. What a totally senseless (if most aren't) murder.

I am touched and honored to read your posts regarding Malaika Griffin's capture. I didn't know people cared about Jason and what she did to him. I grew up with Jason and think of him as a brother, and I will never forget when everything happened (the 6 year anniversary just passed, and yesterday was his birthday) and the hell that Jason's family and friends went through. We were all notified yesterday that she was caught, and it has been incredible. I just want you all to know that Jason was a beautiful, wonderful person. He brought light into people's lives. I now live in Colorado, and I will follow the rest of what happens to his murderer. Thank you for remembering him and caring that his murderer was captured.

Thanks for sharing with us. You know the strongest memory I had was how Jason was portrayed as the kind of guy you would want as a friend or brother. Glad to hear that was accurate.

GOOD!

This woman has issues and what she did was not only cold-hearted, it was outrageous as well. To be filled with so much hate, it makes me wonder just how dangerous she truly is. If you have the nerve to actually shoot someone in cold blood like that, what other heinous acts are you capable of committing? She is a danger to society and who knows what else she had done while on the run.

Hand grenades, books about making bombs and causing destruction, rifles and hateful journal entries. She definitely isn't in her right mind.

I saw this on AMW this past weekend too. I was shocked at what a total nut job this woman was. We think our neighbor is crazy because everytime we buy something, she runs out and buys the same thing (not little stuff, I'm talking furniture and major appliances). After watching this, I thanked my lucky stars!

Considering Malaika Griffin's radical views, and the fact that there were assorted weapons found in her house, I wonder if she was an Islamofascist in the making. In any case, I really think she needs to be converted to Christianity.

I never said that there have never been any crazy Christians. People can be crazy regardless of their religion.

But who knows? Maybe conversion to Christianity could help reduce Griffin's craziness.

I just watched the AMW segment on her capture. Turns out a co-worker saw the AMW profile, the 8th time they ran it, and immediately called another co-worker to verify the identification. She said the co-worker came back to the phone huffing and puffing in astonishment that indeed it was the same person. They immediately turned her in.

What struck me is how small Griffin looked while being led into the courtroom in shackles. The UM and AMW depictions made her look like a heavyset menacing woman. Maybe she lost weight but in court she looked like a pushover.

Not exactly hiding out with a clever new personna. She was going by the name Lake (maybe Laik) Griffin, which sounds like a natural shortening of her true name of Malaika. Holding down three jobs, including a Mexican restaurant and a something like a thrift or linen shop along with the biotech firm.

Yeah, I noticed that! There wasn't any update, though.

I'm SO HAPPY that psycho freak was caught! That segment made me cry --- Jason seemed like such a gentle and kind person. :(

It wasn't updated because she was captured after Stack passed away and you know how Lifetime is with posting updates..

Yeah, but they could have done the ones with text only. I've seen them a few times on the show.

I agree --- Lifetime is horrible with updates!

Those are scary thought. The music sads so sad and it's like...

"On May 23, 2003, two more women were found murdered in their suburban home. The murderer's MO seems to match the case of Lindsay McMcMcson. Police are currently offering a $100,000 reward for clues leading to the arrest of the murderer..."

<_< That's haunting.

He seemed like a great person who just wanted to get along with Malaika! :( :(
I felt horrible for his wife and parents. I almost cried when his wife said at the end of the segment that he was such a positive person and she was trying to live life how he would've lived it. :(

Like Robert Rudolph? Yeah, there's a christian we can all emulate?

Are you sure that's the correct name? You might be thinking of Eric Rudolph. Pardon the correction.

As for the conversion thing, well, I got the idea from radio talk show host Michael Savage. He describes Christianity as "one of the great salvations on planet Earth." He also noted that the terrorists "need to be forcibly converted to Christianity" because "it's the only thing that can probably turn them into human beings."
