Not sure if everyone remembers the story of the missing 1998 texas am student. her name was brandi stahr and authorities though she was abducted by a serial killer and possibly raped and murdered by him before his conviction. they were searching the woodlands for missing bones etc. Well brandi has been found alive leading a normal life in louisville, kentucky working and supporting herself at a sam's club. she staged her own dissappearance because she had a falling out with her mother and didnt want to be found. she was using her real identityy too. she still to this day doesnt want to be reunited with her mother. a happy ending but a sad one as well.

Yeah, I read about that an hour ago. It's good to know that she's alive and well. However, it's unfortunate that she and her mother STILL aren't on the best of terms.

Just more evidence that authorities have a rare ability to embrace innacurate tunnelvision conclusions and generally screw up. Always remember that when you hear speculation regarding the supposed identity of the murderer of Angela Hammond, etc. Last night I watched yet another program with someone wrongly convicted for murder, this time a police officer, no less. He was only freed after the actual killer grew a conscience and confessed, after the police officer served more than 6 years. The actual killer said he had a relationship with the woman he killed and felt guilty from the outset, and was shocked authorities had never questioned him.

Thanks, we are only a small community of people right now. Hopefully more people will join up as the sites get more exposure.

I don't remember this story ever being featured on UM. It just doesn't ring a bell.

Extreme horror fan, even more a fan of this show. Crystal does a great job there. I'm glad she's a part of the site, we're actually working together to bring some of the older segments to the site in the Multimedia Files section so people can experience the older cases. My goal is to make the place more appealing so that it will persuade more and more people to join us.

Back to the original topic though, I can't remember seeing this on U.M. although I assume if it did it would be on one of the later episodes.

Hey thanks for the kind words guys! It is a great new site and "Echoes of Fear" has done a great job in creating it. We can never have enough UM boards out there, can we? :) It will be nice to have some of the older UM segments (possibly even a few from the pre-Stack specials) to watch on there. You guys should come check it out!

I'm all but positive that UM has never aired this story. You know I'm very glad she's been found but must say she really honks me off! Look at all the media coverage of the "runaway bride" and all the trouble she caused and in this case its even worse. All she would have to do was write a note and eased her parents worry all these years. Plus the fact that her grandma wanted to see her before she died but never got to should make Brandi ashamed of herself for not at least giving her mom a call during they last 7 years and letting her know she was alright! Just my two cents.

Just wondering Widowmaker, but what makes you think that the Tara Calico case will be solved in the next two years? You've said it twice.

Well there have been a few leads over the last couple of years about tara calico. i just have a feeling that someone will either come foward or will be found. shes obviously not alive. where her remains are is the the question. i wouldnt be surprised if it was someplace close to her home in NM.
