View Full Version : Baby I'm Back - 1978 on CBS
TVFactFan 06-05-2005, 04:13 PM It's a shame this show only lasted for 8 months in 1978 because I enjoyed all 13 eps. Enjoyed the banter between RAY(demond Wilson) and the Grandmother(Helen Martin). This is the show that gave Kim Fields her first break into acting. Very entertaining show and wish their were more than eps.
seventies_sitcoms 06-05-2005, 08:54 PM I remember watching this show when it when I was a little kid. Everybody in my family seemed to hate it. I haven't seen it since. Is there a DVD coming out for it?

No this show will never be released on DVD. Not enough eps. It was only 13 and since this show was not a spinoff from another Show you don't have to ever worry about seeing this show on DVD.

Well, you never know. I can't believe stuff like Tabitha and That's My Mama are getting released. I always say "Never Say Never."

That's My mama had 39 eps. Big Difference
seventies_sitcoms 06-05-2005, 09:42 PM Baby I'm Back will probably be released in a super-deluxe set before One Day At A Time ever gets a release!

seventies_sitcoms 06-05-2005, 09:48 PM I heard they're interviewing Kim Fields now for the extras!!
Brian Damage 06-05-2005, 09:51 PM I heard they're interviewing Kim Fields now for the extras!!
Then there better be about 3 hours worth of extras! ;)

I honestly don't think Baby I'm Back will sell 20 copies on DVD-lol
seventies_sitcoms 06-05-2005, 10:00 PM Kim Fields, Chip Fields, and Demond Wilson will buy it. Now that leaves 17 copies left?
JeffRuss1972 08-06-2005, 11:07 PM Wish I had seen this show. Was Demond Wilson good in it? Did he play a completely different kind of character than on S & S? That would have been interesting. Wouldn't mind seeing The New Odd Couple again, either.

He was the same character in a Different situation. Only difference*was his name being Ray. I enjoyed his battles with his mother inlaw-(Helen Martin)-Wanda from Good Times
Zions Mother 08-06-2005, 11:21 PM I liked the show. I always remember the the show because Denise Nicholas at that time had not been long divorced from Singer/Song Writer Bill Withers.

Her career goes all the way back to Room 222, 1969. I loved that show, I don't see it in the 1960's sitcom message board. Oh I see it in the 70's board.
She even did guest appearances on other shows as early as 1967
She has been around a long time. :)
TVFactFan 08-07-2005, 12:47 AM I saw one of Denise appearances on the Flip Wilson Show
