Has anyone heard an update on the man that went missing in Mexico after his boat capsized? I forgot his name, but many people had seen him and thought he had amnesia but his parents could never find him. Did they ever find him?

I couldn't find anything about him on the internet. I think his name is Gary Collins. Does anybody know what happened to him?

I was going to ask this! No, I don't know anything about Gary Collins, or whether he has been found.

Anybody else?

Also, what about the girl that went missing in 1979, I believe, and possibly resurfaced in England, was it? I can't remember her name... I was really pulling for this case to be solved!

I think he resurfaced as a harmless talk show host, layered hair and perma-smile. Case solved.

Good one, Awsi!

Actually his name was Gordon Collins. I don't know if he was ever found but it did seem like a solvable case.

It is a very solveable case and surprised that there wasn't an update at the end of this segment. Of course when you go missing in a foreign country you have to deal with a lot of the politics etc. over there so I dunno if that was a factor in Collins case. The weather in Mexico itself is very brutal so I'm not sure being in the disorientated state that G. Collins was in if he could have survived the elements during an extended period of time in Mexico just wandering from town to town. He did know to ask for a blanket though when he was cold so it shows some level of functioning was there if the man on the beach was indeed Collins.

It's funny the family really didn't need to make up a composite on the missing persons flyer. A picture of Jesus Christ would have sufficed very well.

Amy Billig is the girl who went missing in Florida in the seventies and was suspected to be nabbed by a biker gang. There is a whole book on Amy's case co-authored by her mother called "Without A Trace" which goes into a lot deeper detail than UM ever could in their segment. It is essential reading for anyone interested in this case. I'm not gonna give away the information in the book but there is a resolution to this case at least partially - All I can tell you though is Amy was never found. Buy de book

Later.

There's nothing on Gordon Collins in the internet. Unsolved Mysteries always did pick the unpopular and unheard of topics with the exception of Chandra Levy and Jeffrey Macdonald. I would like to know whether they found his body. I guess we'll never know.

I thought the same thing. :) I also thought the composite picture looked quite "cleaned up" compared to the actor's appearance of Gordon Collins. I suspect, in reality that he is/was quite disheveled.

I hear ya! If I'm going by the going by the composite alone I've definitely spotted Gordon Collins. He calls himself Jesus. :P

Thanks for the information, DarkDante! I will definetly look into reading that book! Although I'm sad to hear she was never found. :(
