I was never sure the show seems a bit southern

Where do you assume the show was based in? As they've never referred to anything specific other than "the tri-state area"

on some websites they say MF is in Raytown Missouri, or it could be a fictonal town

and the announcer always says before MF comes on "and now for some southern fried comedy...."

Call me crazy but I always kind of assumed it was patterned around the Tri-state (Cincinnati, Louisville, Indianapolis)?

I would guess Missouri or Kansas. It is definitely in a warmer climate as in the goose Christmas episode Iola has only a sweater on when she is outside talking to Leland the goose! No snow.
