View Full Version : awesome Job Interview today
MsOrange 06-02-2005, 11:01 PM I had a job interview w/ an internship with Magna International for their IT department and it went really really well. He told me out of everyone he interviewed, i seemed to be exactly what they were looking for. I really felt good about it. If he was BSing me, he did one hell of a job!! Anyway, if you believe in prayer PLEASE PRAY FOR ME! This would def. be an answer to my prayers. It's a paying internship, 10$ an hour, and he talked about what would happen when i graduated and everything... i mean, i really walked away w/ the warm fuzzies!
just be prayin! he said i should expect a call in a week.
Rhiannon 06-02-2005, 11:56 PM That's so exciting! I hope you get it!

I have a friend who just got an HR manager's position with Magna. She's been trying to get me in when an opening comes up in my field. It's a fantastic company to work for - they're huge!
I'm hoping you'll get it!

MsOrange 06-05-2005, 08:01 AM so... should i send a thank you email? (we did'nt communicate through snail mail). Would Monday be too late? the interview was Thrusday. or should i just let it go and just wait for the call?

I'd shoot one off via email - I don't think it's too late - they say it can be sent a couple days after the interview, but yah, best if one's sent. You could even do it today so they open it first thing Monday morning which would also be a good refresher for them if they're starting to make their decision then.

MsOrange 06-06-2005, 07:58 AM well, he emailed me back, but evidently the email did not go through, but this is what he wrote back:

We are going to try and hire you as soon as we can! That is if you are interested.
I will keep you posted, it will probably take at least a week (or two).
Thanks!
Sincerely,

Hey thats awesome well done and congrats .......... now if only my reply will be one like that :2help
TripperFan 06-06-2005, 10:11 AM It's looking good Melissa! Wonder what happened with the text!! ?????
But I guess he assumed it was either a thank you letter or a letter to follow up and see if a decision's being made. Either way, that's an encouraging reply back!
peter may 06-07-2005, 12:15 PM well at least you got a reply i sent my thanku letter and have had no reply :( oh sh*it
Max Whittaker 06-07-2005, 12:43 PM Excellent! Looks like you're on you way to easy street, baby!
TripperFan 06-07-2005, 12:50 PM well at least you got a reply i sent my thanku letter and have had no reply :( oh sh*it
Don't give up on it yet - from what I've seen, you never know how a company is going to handle the hiring process! It sure would be nice if there were a standard eh?
Max Whittaker 06-07-2005, 12:56 PM well at least you got a reply i sent my thanku letter and have had no reply :( oh sh*it
That happened to me, too. Don't worry about it. They're probably busy. Considering the fact that a thank-you letter is expected these days, the employer could simply have too many letters to reply to.
I sent my thank-you by e-mail. Never got a response. I got something better: the job! So don't give up!
peter may 06-07-2005, 01:23 PM thanks guys i did only send it this afternoon so maybe its not dead yet :)
TripperFan 06-07-2005, 01:29 PM thanks guys i did only send it this afternoon so maybe its not dead yet :)
Oh yah, if it's only been that long then don't worry at all.
The worst I ever had to wait to hear back was 6 weeks!! Actually it was an internal position at a company I was already working for so at least I was still working, but it drove my boss nuts because I was still on that dept.'s payroll. Turned out I had the new job all along.....the boss actually "forgot" to let us know!!! I understood once I started working for him - he wasn't the best communicator in the world (he was though once I whipped him into shape)!
