Consoles my dear. That was the term for those suckers. I also remember the old days with the 'rabbit ears' on the antennas. Got a whopping three channels, and no remote control.

I can't say that I'm fond of them. But I suppose I'll get used to it. I do like the new "Report post" icon, though. Much easier to find and it's pretty, too.

Did the avatars get bigger as well?

To the best of my knowledge, 150x150 is still the maximum size allowable for avatars.

FWIW, for those of you curious about such things, here were the first two "looks" for the button - they were scrapped because they were too big - the size was causing a issue with IE

The temporary internet files have to be cleared out from the cache in order to see these new buttons. I was checking out SO about an hour ago on a computer where I've never accessed SO and I saw them. This computer I am using to post this still has the old buttons. Hope that helps for those who can't see the new images.

I just cleared my temporary internet settings, refreshed this page, and violà! I can see the new ones now! :D

There are days that the image cache is a bandwidth livesaver. And there are days that it's creator should be shot.
