View Full Version : 2 Sitcoms that were unwatchable during the decade of the 1990's? TVFactFan 06-02-2005, 02:27 PM I will say the two unwatchable sitcoms of the 90's to me was Friends and Fraiser Dean Winchester 06-02-2005, 02:34 PM is your Cheers hatred that strong that you can't stomach Frasier? If you can enjoy Seinfeld, I'm surprised you can't at least tolerate Frasier, which IMO is a lot closer to Seinfeld than Cheers in terms of brand of comedy. If you can enjoy Seinfeld, I'm surprised you can't at least tolerate Frasier, which IMO is a lot closer to Seinfeld than Cheers in terms of brand of comedy. I seen Fraiser and believe me it's no where close to Seinfeld in the entertainment category. Chocoholic 06-02-2005, 08:03 PM What, Wings is no longer the most unwatchable show of the 1990's for you? I guess you're finally starting to like it just a teensy weensy little bit. ;) Anyway, I totally agree with you about Friends. The popularity and appeal of that show has always been lost on me. I know many people love it, but I've watched many episodes and always found it to be unfunny trash. globalspot28 06-02-2005, 08:10 PM I will say the two unwatchable sitcoms of the 90's to me was Friends and Fraiser I loved Cheers, but for some reason, I found Frasier a bore. I could never sit through even one episode. I tried, because I liked the character so much in Cheers, but for some reason, I did not like the show. :( Skywalker 06-02-2005, 08:25 PM Living Single The Nanny dawsongirl 06-03-2005, 02:50 PM Seinfeld I need to think of a #2 Dean Winchester 06-03-2005, 03:23 PM you know, I used to think Seinfeld was extremely overrated when I was a teenager. However, revisiting the show through DVD as an adult... I fail to see how anyone can hate it, IMO it's definately the greatest sitcom of the 90's, with Roseanne as the closest competition IMO. I enjoy watching Seinfeld but the only thing that irritates me sometimes is when George WHINES. Other than that the show is very entertaining. dawsongirl 06-04-2005, 02:48 AM you know, I used to think Seinfeld was extremely overrated when I was a teenager. I don't think it's funny and most of the characters are annoying. TVFactFan 06-04-2005, 03:22 AM I don't think it's funny and most of the characters are annoying. The only annoying character is Kramer Brian Damage 06-05-2005, 07:27 PM Home Improvement Grace Under Fire Dean Winchester 06-05-2005, 07:57 PM Home Improvement I agree, I like a lot of Tim Allen's movie work but always found HI to be overrated factsoflife 06-06-2005, 12:16 AM for me it was Martin and Seinfield... also hated, and i mean hated Mad About You. dawsongirl 06-06-2005, 12:32 AM Mad About You. There we go. I never found that funny and I really hate Helen Hunt's acting, so that just made it worse. H. E. Pennypacker 06-06-2005, 01:23 AM Paul Reiser was far more talented than Helen Hunt. Worst sitcom of the 90's was Ellen it was just fluff, I watched an episode from the final season after she had finally come out expecting something challenging or interesting, instead I saw Ms DeGeneres in a chicken suit. I've read her book - she is so much funnier and more talented than that show. Even less watchable was the Nancy Travis train wreck Almost Perfect, why they let that woman within 50 ft of a camera is beyond me but they did it again with Becker. Eddie Haskell 06-06-2005, 02:11 AM Dharma and Greg and Veronica's Closet. Just a matter of personal taste I guess. That and the fact I could never stand Jenna Elfman and Kirstey Alley. Dean Winchester 06-06-2005, 02:18 AM while I actually liked Mad About You, or at least the first four seasons before the baby came along, I must agree that Helen Hunt's acting was so overrated. I didn't see what was so award-winning about her performance in As Good As It Gets either snl75 06-06-2005, 03:05 AM I agree, I like a lot of Tim Allen's movie work but always found HI to be overratedi agree with that too TVFactFan 06-06-2005, 12:01 PM I just remember Hunt and Reiser kissing all over each other when I turned to Mad About You. Was the show about anything else besides them kissing on each other?-lol seventies_sitcoms 06-06-2005, 01:19 PM Seinfeld and Friends. I just don't get the hoopla at all. dlemond 06-06-2005, 01:35 PM Veronica's Closet Grace Under Fire Chocoholic 06-06-2005, 03:05 PM Even less watchable was the Nancy Travis train wreck Almost Perfect, why they let that woman within 50 ft of a camera is beyond me but they did it again with Becker. You just HAD to make me remember that awful disaster of a show, didn't you? :barf: ;) Veronica's Closet, Grace Under Fire, and Martin were also pretty bad. Funy thing about Mad About You. I loved that show when it was on the air, but it absolutely nauseates me now. Helen Hunt is so terribly overrated. factsoflife 06-06-2005, 03:42 PM Paul Reiser was far more talented than Helen Hunt.
