Penny Lane 06-02-2005, 09:08 AM I hadn't heard that Debralee Scott died! She was only 52! I just looked her up on imdb.com :(
PZelda 06-02-2005, 11:20 AM Nobody whose autographs I have, have passed away yet. Although I wouldn't be surprised if Harvey Korman croaks within the next few years. The oldest person I have is Betty White and she still has many years left in her. :)

Betty White will never die.

TripperFan 06-02-2005, 01:00 PM Sounds like you're the Kiss of Death to celebs who give you their autograph. Don't let the word get out in Hollywood or nobody's going to want to give you their autograph!!!
Courtnee 06-02-2005, 01:41 PM I also forgot John Ritter.

Harvey was born in 1927 and Betty in 1922 . So age-wise Harvey(being younger) may live a few more years yet. Betty is in her early 80's! Hard to believe! I wish them both many more long healthy happy years! :D

I've heard Harvey isn't doing too well health-wise so that is why I said I wouldn't be surprised if he passes away first. He's only 78 but he looked 90 at the TV Land Awards this past March! omg:
I have a 90-year-old grandpa (will be 91 this year) and he looks better than Harvey.

Yeah, he looked pretty feeble. Do you know if he is ill? And from what? My Mom is his age and she looks 10 years younger! But that could just be genetics. I don't know.................
Cactus Jack 06-02-2005, 07:52 PM Oh yeah! That too! I forgot!

I Love John Ritter 06-02-2005, 07:58 PM Not sure...I guess sometimes it's still hard to imagine him not being alive.
Yeah, that's exactly what I think too.
Anyway, the only person's autograph that I have that is no longer alive is John Ritter.

All I know is yes, he's ill but I'm not sure what he has. :( Harvey's son, Chris, posts at another message board that I post at so I could ask him there. He's the one and the same person that used to post here so I know you remember him. ;)

There ya go!! If you ever see Rod Serling standing a few feet away from you and narrating your day........RUN!!! ;) :)
I guess the only autograph I've gotten as an adult was Jim Davis' (the creator of Garfield) - I worked with him for a period. He's still going strong luckily!

omg: JIM DAVIS?! You WORKED with him? Lucky bitch! ;)
I have a whole bunch of peoples' autographs. My latest is Jane Fonda... *ducks rotten tomatoes* I KNOW, I KNOW. You all hate her. :o Last one before that was Fred Dryer and he sent me a gorgeous pic of himself!
HuntingtonM15 06-02-2005, 09:22 PM My latest is Jane Fonda
I've been meaning to write her for a while now. How long did she take to respond?
*MIBabe03* 06-02-2005, 09:23 PM I'm just curious, how do you know if their autograph is authentic?
PZelda 06-02-2005, 09:31 PM I've been meaning to write her for a while now. How long did she take to respond?
Hardly took any time at all - 10 days :D
I, however, got a letter from her company saying she doesn't personalize stuff and she signs pictures only...don't bother sending her an index card. Just send a SASE and you will be good to go. :)

Yeah - it was when we obtained licensing from PAWS his company. He has beautiful offices - they're out in the woods, designed almost like log homes with huge picturesque windows (at least that's the way they were in the early nineties). He's very tall - around 6'4" or a little more.
So how do you get these autographs mainly - just write to them or do you go places to meet them?

A little of both, but mainly through the mail. :)
I've been collecting on and off since the 90's, but I got serious about collecting in 2003. I've managed to get the following in person:
- Vicki Lawrence :biglove:
- Joe Farrell (x3)
- Faber Dewar
- Christi Proctor
- Hildi Santo-Tomas (HUGE deal for me because she's a hard person to get)
- Edward Walker
There may be more, but I can't think of them right now. I was most excited about getting Vicki's and Joe's autographs in person. :faint: If you don't know what the last 4 look like, I attached pics:
TripperFan 06-02-2005, 10:22 PM Kewl!! I've got to get out more I guess!!!
Here's one of the autographs from Jim (the other is a huge cardboard cutout of Garfield done up as a Mountie and Uncle Sam arm in arm saying "Team Canada") because of the Canadian licensing rights. Here's a placecard that was at the celebration dinner that he signed for me after working for him.
