I've been friends with a guy named Nick for about 9 years now. In 97, his mother passed away from a long bout with cancer, and less than a year later, his father met and married a woman who had 3 kids and they moved into their house.

All went well between Nick and his sister and their stepmother until.... His younger sister went and got a tattoo on her leg that said "heartbroken" and then listed the date of her mothers death.... The stepmother did not take to this well even though she is 20 years old. She took it as a "slap in the face" because they still remember their mother (she threw out 95% of the family photos that had the mother) instead of considering her "mom". Things have gotten so heated that the beeyotch forbids the father to speak to his own children, and he has to drive five miles out of the way to call them via pay-phones. All because Nick and his sister still remember their biological mother. I thought STEP-parents assume that no matter how close they are to their step-children, they will never completely take the place of the real parent, unless the biological parent neglected them or died very early in life.

I can't believe a 40 year old woman would be so evil and manipulative to tear a father away from his real kids... while he's spoiling HER kids.

That's a very unfortunate situation but your friends dad has to take some of the blame as well. Your friend and his sister barely had time to grieve for their mom when their dad remarried a woman he just met and brought other children into the household. Did he take any time to consider how these actions would affect his son and daughter? Now his current wife is making him choose between her and his kids. He should to be a man and put his foot down and he should have taken immediate action when she threw the family photos away. I can't even imagine what the kids felt when she did that and I'm assuming their dad did nothing about it. It's also ridiculous that he has to go to a payphone to keep in contact with his own children who did nothing wrong. He needs to kick that woman to the curb.......

well, another thing to consider about this womans actions is....

Nick's father is a very wealthy man. I've been to their house before, it's like one of those houses you see on MTV's Cribs, it's a very nice place. His stepmother has never had to worry about working a day in her life because he makes so much money. I knew all along that she was in it for the money. I recently suggested to Nick to tell his father next time he calls him via payphone, to fake up a story that the IRS is seizing the house and properties because of unpaid taxes, and then we'd see how long the woman would last before walking out.

That's just so wrong. I have never heard of a woman that evil before. God, what is her problem?!

I think that is a good idea, so the dad will get rid of her and her kids, and kick them out of his house.

What's preventing this father from calling his children with the regular phone or cell phone?

If I were him, I'd stand my ground, not take any crap from her, and just call his kids no matter where he is. If she got physically abusive, I'd just file a police report.

I do agree with Mijada about him rushing into another relationship. The fault lies in both parties.

It might be extreme but I would also file divorce papers. Sure it would cost a lot of money but it would be better than having so much heartache if I were to stay this way.

EDIT: This sounds like something I would see in a Dear Abby letter.

she's a manipulative control freak

Yeah, I know the type. She's probably a bully, too. Very sad.

Something must be wrong with the dad. Why would he put up with a woman that threw away HIS life? He hardly even gets to talk to his kids. That woman is evil.

There seems to be a lot of guys like that; totally chicken when it comes to standing up to their wives. I have an uncle like that. It's like...for once, live up to the stereotype and BE A MAN. Make her cry if you have to. Sheesh. What, are they all afraid they won't get any if they make the little woman mad??

I can't believe her insensitivity. If anything, you MAKE SURE the kids remember their mother.

I hate to say it, but it almost sounds like dad knew and could have even been seeing this woman while their mother was still alive. I just can't see any other reason for her acting like she's in competition with their real mother. I've heard of them acting like that after a divorce, but the woman's gone for God sakes!!

And yes, dad need to take some of the blame. Sure, he can move on, but he's got to consider the kids too and he should be telling this b*tch that his kids come first. Something's amiss here < scratches head >

If I were one of the kids I would be crushed to know that she got rid of the pictures. Pictures are something you can't replace. At least she can't take the memory of their Mom away from them.

I would be seeking revenge if that had happened to me. Burn her photos or something. No one throws out my stuff without my permission and gets away with it.

The Next time you see Nick's Step Mom flip her the bird(Give her the MIddle Finger) thats what I would do, then I would wave my hand in her face like John Cena does and Tell her You Can't see Me
