Eddie

Eddie, the title character, is the poster child for "teen smart guy" and holds in high contempt what he sees as the deepness and cool of the world around him. He is also brave -- though he'd say he's "realistic" -- and mistrustful of authority and doesn't hesitate to make his opinions known when he sees fit. He has a talent for writing, a sharp intellect, an even sharper tongue and a wit so dry it makes the Sahara look like a rain forest.

In spite of all that, however, he does have his vulnerable spots. For several years, one of those soft spots used to be an old school friend of his, Britanny Boviac. And why not? An alien cheerleader, who just also happened to be a "total cutie"... her very presence would have left him speechless and a mere look from her would have convinced him to do almost anything (even get a navel ring). However, Eddie's cosntant thinking about girls eventually got him in trouble with the adults and his friend Lloyd Nebulon and he and Brittany are now good friends.

Eddie is now dating Terri Lake, who's his intellectual equal as well as a member of one of Space City's wealthy elite though it didn't come about easily. It's a steady relationship -- both are hampered by a lack of experience with relationships, particularly Eddie -- but a good one overall. Whether their relationship will survive graduation, however, remains to be seen.

Status at begining of series: Graduated from Intrepidville High, receiving the Dian Fossey Award for "dazzling academic achievement in the face of near-total misanthropy." Accepted into the freshman class at Space City College. Will undoubtedly continue to have more adventures with Lloyd, who was accepted into the freshman class at nearby Intrepidville Fine Arts College.

Kelly

Kelly is the person you would get if you hang put with Eddie, shaved off a dozen or so I.Q. points, and gave her an obsession with fashion, boys and popularity. She wraps up in one stuck-up, too-cute, self-absorbed package everything that Eddie holds in disdain. She dates as many boys as she can but, paradoxically, she seems to have a real fear of intimacy; she won't even let a boy slow-dance with her unless it's Eddie. That doesn't seem to affect her ability to get dates, however, as almost every guy she meets tends to fall all over her (with one notable exception).

There are moments in which Kelly reveals that she's not quite the airhead she appears to be but for the most part, her intelligence is geared mainly towards what is most important to her: namely, being cute and popular. However, by the start of her Freshman year, this began to change; after a summer of tutoring, she discovered that she actually has a functioning brain under all that makeup and bouncy hair and has begun to use it... within limits, of course.

For years, Kelly was terminally embarrassed at having Lara -- a "brain" (ewww!) -- for a sister. She would tell everyone that she and Lara were cousins, distant relatives... anything but sisters. However, her tolerance and respect for Eddie and Lara grew steadily over the years, particularly after her summer tutoring. This finally culminated in her public admission to her friends of her true relationship to Lara. It was the most significant moment of personal growth Lara had ever shown but the ironic thing is, her friends had known all along that they were sisters; they were just being polite about it!

It's a safe bet that if Kelly ever discovered her true potential, her lethal combination of looks and brains would make her a very formidable person indeed!

Jane is Eddie's best friend. They met during a self-esteem class at Space City College which Jane has already taken six times (she could have easily passed the class but having low self-esteem "made her feel special"). Like Eddie, Jane is cool, intelligent, and talented (she is a budding artist) but she is also a little more open to the world around her. She enjoys running and once joined her High School track team... briefly.

Like any good artist, Jane constantly explores the passionate and emotional side of the world which usually translates into exploring -- sometimes impulsively -- various romantic possiblities with boys (Jimmy Young, Adam Stevens, Tom Davison and Eddie). Her emotional nature tends to get the better of her, unfortunately and is part of the reason why her only long-term relationship (with Tom) ended -- disastrously. Her relationship with Eddie finally was resolved when he dated Terri Lake and she now appears to be (mostly) comfortable with her best friend dating her arch rival... though, of course, she doesn't miss an opportunity to tease both of them about it.

Terri is a member of one of Space City's wealthiest families. She went to a prep school as a child and looks every every inch the part of a "spoiled rich brat." That's where the stereotype ends, however, as her every action is designed to downplay the fact that he comes from a rich family (even going far as to drive a "junker" car... a rusted Ford Pinto at first then a Jaguar that's in only slightly better shape). Her rebellious streak even leads him to explore life on the "other side of the tracks" which is where she met Jane and Eddie... an event that would eventually turn her world upside down.

Charming, intelligent, and a quick wit (with a sarcastic streak that's second to none), Terri's charms lead him to a relationship with Eddie although Jane has a big dislike for her... not exactly Terri's finest moment though Eddie does play a pretty significant role. They all reconcile their differences eventually and Terri and Eddie settled into a slow, steady relationship (and she even manages to try to be nice to Jane).

From Terri's point of view, her relationship with Eddie is definitely a challenge. She gets along well with him most of the time but like most College girls (well, any age, really), she tends to be somewhat clueless and will say and do things that Eddie takes the wrong way. Even with something isn't her fault, though, dealing with Eddie seems to take an extraordinary amount of patience. To her credit, she appears to have dug in for the long haul though how long a haul it is remains to be seen, what with graduation fast approaching.

Andrea (pronounced ahn-DREY-ah) is, quite simply, the "goth chick." Little is known about her, but her manner of dress (dark eyeliner, gray shirt, long gray skirt, fishnet glove on one hand... that is, when she's not working as a stock clerk at her parent-enforced job at the local warehouse store) and her quiet demeanor all scream "dark." In fact, if her poetry is any indication, she could give Eddie a run for his money in the "bleak outlook on life" department. She is in several of Eddie's classes and has developed something of a cult following among the fans with many of them hanging on her every non-syllable.

Sally is Space City College's resident "airhead alien." She is the head of the varsity cheerleading squad, which is practically the only thing she's good at since she's about as bright as a three watt light bulb. (Thinking is definitely not her strong suit; whenever she's confused, her usual response is a pathetic "Eep!" as her brain seizes up.) Her favorite activities include cheering, parties, shopping, her boyfriend Larry, twirling her hair around her finger with a vacant look in her eyes and listening to the soothing sound of the wind blowing between her ears. She and Eddie are acquaintances though Eddie would probably hesitate to call her a "friend."

Every school has its model student... and Judy qualifies as three of them. She's intelligent and popular, a condition that violates more than a few natural laws. She never met an extracurricular activity she didn't like; as President of the French Club, Vice President of the Student Council, President of the Honor Society, editor of the yearbook and a member of the tennis team, Judy is the see-all do-all student. Underneath that picture perfect exterior, however, is a significant (but well-hidden) layer of frustration and resentment. Due to her being practically the only Cerabellian student at Space City College and to the constant pressure to achieve from her parents, she feels she must be Miss Perfect Student in order to set an example for others. Eddie is a friend of Judy's and in some ways is also a role model for her as Eddie generally says and does whatever she likes... something that Judy wishes she could do more often.

Larry is the quarterback of the Space City College varsity football team and has apparently been through one too many practices without his helmet. He has no brains and no clue which makes him the perfect match for Sally. He is almost never out of his football uniform, probably because he'd be hopelessly confused about what else to wear. Eddie tolerates him as best he can, though his I.Q. no doubt reminds him of his former nemesis, Rodney Glaxer (and who would want to live through that again?).

Sandra is the President of the Fashion Club, and takes her leadership role very seriously (well, as seriously as she is able). Her deep voice is exceeded only by her very deep jealousy of Kelly, whom she feels is a threat to her standing both in the Fashion Club and on the popularity scene. In fact, there seems to be growing evidence that Sandra is the way she is largely due to Eddie's influence.

Despite her predatory ways, there's growing evidence that her hold on the Fashion Club is starting to slip: Kelly is showing signs of greater independence (perhaps because now that she's getting smarter, she knows that she doesn't have to rely on the Fashion Club as much) and Sadie is growing more of a backbone, allowing her to stand up to Sandra's bullying tactics more often. And even Sandra herself may be changing somewhat: her recent bout with weight gain showed her how much of a friend she really has in Kelly and that she could have more real friends if she treated people as potential allies, not as adversaries. Whether or not she'll seize the opportunity in front of her, however, remains to be seen.

Sadie is the Secretary of the Fashion Club. She is deeply insecure, and appears to have no personality of her own. As such, she pretty much lives vicariously through the other Fashion Club members, particularly Kelly (one time, she even dresses exactly like Kelly and wants them to dye their hair the same color). Sadie is also highly emotional and has been known to go into panic attacks so bad that she starts hyperventilating. When it comes to the power struggle between Sandra and Kelly, Stacy will usually try to take Kelly's side but more often than not is cowed into submission by Sandra. However, this appears to be changing: the frustrations of trying to run the Fashion Club with the self-absorbed Angela (after Sandra and Kelly temporarily resigned) caused Sadie to blow up at the poor girl. This little brush with self-confidence seems to have manifested itself in the ability to stand up for herself... but not all the time, of course.

Angela is the Coordinating Officer, charged with making sure that the Fashion Club members do not wear clothes that clash with each other (she also appears to be the accessorizing expert). Her unofficial role, however, is that of "yes man," as she will always side with either Sandra or Kelly, depending on who happens to be winning at the time. She is also pathologically insecure about her looks and her weight -- if one day she simply dried up and blew away, she'd still consider herself to be "too fat" -- and if her speech patterns are any indication, she's either learning-disabled, heavily medicated, or really hard pressed to keep up with the world around her. How she manages to get through the day is a mystery; a stint as Fashion Club president (when Sandra resigned when she gained weight after breaking her leg) showed that she's hard-pressed to think of anything other than herself.

The Three J's -- Jerry, Johnny and Jamie -- are the lead horses in Kelly's stable of admirers. Ever having to go to Space City College which is about 25 miles away from Intrepidville? Same here, only they probably didn't constantly buy you things and beg to do things for you. They probably never continually fought with each other for your attentions, either.

The J's are all Freshmen at Space City College and are on the crushball team and their constant grovelling at Kelly's feet is pathetic to the point of weird... not that Eddie is about to discourage it, of course! Jerry is saddled with an additional burden, in that no one can seem to remember his name. He's been called Jimmy, Joey, Jeffy, Jude; any name beginning with J, he's been called it.

Prof. Berker is the Science Teacher From Hell. She's just as crabby as Eddie's 7th Grade teacher Mrs. Bolt but her attitude stems from a very messy, very bitter divorce. As such, she has developed a rather healthy distaste for men (okay, she's a festering cauldron of hatred and resentment), which usually manifests itself by her giving the female students higher grades and favored treatment over the male students. The only man that has been able to get through her armor -- inadvertently -- is Prof. Jordan and that's only because he (unlike the rest of his "disgusting, war-mongering sex") displays and shares his feelings.

Eddie on Prof. Berker: Hypothesis: Bitter divorce results in intense resentment of all males. Of any species.

Voice: Prof. Berker's voice is performed by Cree Summer who also voices Numbah 5 and Cree in Codename: Kids Next Door.

Prof. Bennett

Full Name: Hannah Bennett

Prof. Bennett teaches Economics, and is likable but loopy. She is renowned for her extremely confusing chalkboard diagrams, which look like football playbook schematics but are a thousand times more confusing. She and her husband William are collectors of Fuzzy Wuzzy Wee Bits, a line of Beanie Baby-like stuffed animals (she once got a whole boxful when she took her class to the Mall of the Millennium).

Eddie on Prof. Bennett: Lives for the clicky-clack sound that chalk makes. Her confusing diagrams are legendary as is her hatred of pennies.

Voice: Prof. Bennett's voice is performed by Amy Bennett who also voice Mrs. Bennett in Daria.

Prof. Morgan

Full Name: Claire Morgan
Age: Late 30's to early 40's
Vocation: Art teacher at Space City College

Prof. Morgan teaches Art and appears to be the only human member of the Space City College faculty. She is very down-to-earth, pleasant to a fault, and patient with all her students (even the talent-challenged Sally). She is also a great admirer of Eddie and Jane's artwork. (Prof. Morgan elicits a rare compliment from Jane -- "she's nice" -- even though Jane didn't appreciate Prof. Morgan guilt-tripping her into participating in a lame poster art contest.) Her giving nature tends to come at a price, however, as in the case of her not having the heart to throw her freeloading ex-college roommates out of her studio apartment, thereby causing her to lug around a sleeping bag and to shower at a truck stop (using her own homemade soap, of course).

Eddie on Prof. Morgan: Jewelry as large as her imagination. Resents being forced to choose between "arts" and "crafts."

Prof. DiMaggio

Full Name: Jordan DiMaggio

Prof. DiMaggio teaches History and is stressed out to the point of being taken away in a straight-jacket. Prof. DiMaggio has quite a lot of psychological problems often caused by intellectual giants such as Larry and Sally. He has an annoying habit of shouting every fifth word or so, which causes one of his eyes to bulge out of his head and if all that weren't enough, he's also saddled with a gambling addiction (which at one time cost him his car).

Eddie on Prof. DiMaggio: Thinks teachers' editions are for wimps. Beneath his gruff exterior, he's a puppy dog. A rabid puppy dog.

Dean Berishnakauv

Full Name: Jerome Berishnakauv

Dean Berishnakauv is the tyrranical Dean of Space City College. He has many facets to his personality, one of them being an entrepeneur: he is quite adept at, and quite obsessed with, raising money for the school. Another is an image consultant: he is always concerned about the school's image and reputation. A liberal sprinkling of paranoia and megalomania round out the mixture. Among his priorities is the education and well-being of the students in his charge, though it's not exactly at the top of his list (or in the middle, for that matter). As a Dean, he makes a wonderful dicator.

Prof. Mason is the Space City College psychology teacher and is the living embodiment of everything that's wrong with "pop psychology." Her only speaking appearance to date is proof of that, as she diagnoses Eddie as having too much confidence when Eddie sees through her psychological mumbo-jumbo and messes with his mind (by claiming that an image of two people talking is "a vase which looks like Intrepidville," thereby causing Dr. Herman Roarschak to spin madly in his grave). As someone once said, Prof. Mason is not exactly the hottest taco on the combination plate...

Eddie on Prof. Mason: Says she loves her job but keeps having that dream where the students turn into bloodsucking bats.

Prof. Jordan is the English teacher (with an occasional stint as the teacher of Space City College's self-esteem class). The most charitable description of him would have to be "complete and total wuss." He's a "sensitive new-age type" who is always talking about one's feelings; unfortunately, he doesn't have a very good grip on his own emotions as he's almost always upset or distressed about something. His blood is 100% chicken (he's easily frightened by the most innocuous of things) and he can't remember a person's name to save his life. Strangely enough, he tends to have an occasional fling with Prof. Berker -- always her idea, of course, as he's the type that would never even think of having a wild night with a woman, much less with the ultra-intimidating Prof. Berker.

Eddie on Prof. Jordan: Fond of button-down shirts and trite observations. Never forgets a face... just the name that goes with it.

Trent

Full Name: Trent Davis

When the term "slacker" was coined, they must have had Trent in mind. Having graduated to Space City College a year ago, Trent now spends most of his time playing guitar in, and writing songs for, his band, Mystik Spiral. He's turned sleeping into an art form -- no schedule can hold him down! -- and has attained a level of laziness that makes the biggest couch potato on Earth look like a hummingbird on amphetamines.

Being soft-spoken and handsome hasn't exactly hurt Trent; he maintains an on-again, off-again relationship with a fellow musician, Lara and he used to leave the normally articulate and self-assured Jane at a complete loss for words but his slacker ways and his inability to stick to commitments eventually crushed her crush. He and Jane are now good friends; he's helped her out on more than several occasions, most significantly by giving her several uncanny insights into her friendship with Eddie and being a sounding board during the summer period when Eddie and Jane were on the outs.

Above and beyond all else, however, Trent has maintained a close relationship with Jane, acting as sort of a big brother slowly lose his way due to the lack of her and Eddie's steadying influence in his life.

Eddie on Trent: One of the coolest dudes. Musician and philosopher. His philosophy involves not making any sudden movements... or gradual ones.

Voice: Trent's voice is performed by Diederich bader, who voiced Boomer in Lloyd In Space.

Prof. Barkdale

Full Name: Hayley Anne Barkdale

A former flower child turned cleaver jorunalism teacher, Prof. Barkdale is the textbook definition of "overworked parent." She's a go-getter but rarely puts as much intensity into raising her children as she does in her job. Her world revolves around her work and her cellular phone and her idea of parental involvement consists of sending her assistant to parent-teacher conferences. As such, she is often clueless as to what is happening in the lives of the students and her attempts at parenting often fall flat. (There are occasional breaks in the clouds, however, like the time she gave advice that helped Eddie overcome a case of writer's block. This and other incidents show that maybe -- just maybe -- she knows the students better than anyone ever suspected.)

Voice: Prof. Barkdale's voice is performed by Nicole Kidman.

Prof. Bass

Full Name: Jacob Bass
Age: Mid 43
Vocation: Law teacher at Space City College
First Appearance: Esteemsters

Prof. Bass is not unlike the rest of the Space City College facualty: well meaning but totally clueless when it comes to the intricacies of parenthood. He is almost always stressed out over some issue or another; that, combined with many unresolved issues from his childhood and a tendency to blow the tiniest of things way out of proporation, often get in the way of his best intentions. He's also living proof that humans and jellyfish can have offspring as he is totally spineless and lets Prof. Barkdale boss him around. Like Prof. Barkdale, Prof. Bass is also a former hippie, but unlike his peers, he somehow managed to get through the peace-and-love era without compromising a single ounce of his stress (which finally caught up with him when he suffered a mild heart attack in one episode).

Andy

Take a nerdy-looking, freckle-faced version of Eddie, give him an annoying, high-pitched voice and throw in enough UFO paranoia to make The X-Files' FBI Agent Mulder look normal and you'd have Andy, Space City's resident conspiracy theorist and weirdest pizza delivery guy.

Artie's first appearance was in "Esteemsters" where he was interviewed by a reprter for Space Goings On at a UFO convention. The description of his latest UFO abduction pretty much set the tone for his character, only to be topped by his "artificial skin" and "alien space goddesses" ranting in "Happy Halloween".

His only other appearance was in "Eddie's Song". Apparently, he was able to bounce back from losing his pizza delivery job enough to land another pizza job, this time at Pizza King.

Axl

Axl runs Axl's Piercing Parlor on Degas Street, in downtown Space City. This scruffy-looking Rodney Glaxer lookalike may not look like much but he'll put a hole anywhere on your body at any time, provided you're 18 or older (though he's not very diligent on that point).

His only appearance was in "The Problemo" when Eddie and Terri came into his establishment and Terri convinced him to get a navel ring. Though it's never explicitly said, Axl was probably responsible for the rings in the ears of all the girls at Space City College. He was definitely responsible for Trent's nose ring for which she came to him for more "antiseptic stuff."

Frank & Sarah Horton

Frank and Sarah Horton are Eddie's parents. Having them on Space City College campus is not Eddie's strongest point; Eddie still harbors a lot of resmeblance to his mother Sarah due to her hair and eye color which he inherited while Frank is now Captain of the Intrepidville Police Force. In fact, while Eddie was growing up, all he could do was provide sarcastic "color commentary" to other people's antics... a role that Jane would find very familiar.

Frank and Sarah's first appearance was in the episode "Esteemers" when Eddie was due to go to Space City College. Frank was next seen in the episode "Best Friends Forever" where he gives Eddie advice about getting Jane to split up with Virgil. Both Frank and Sarah would next show up in "Cheery Feerlap, Eddie Horton" as Eddie attempts to help Jane with the Feerlap party when his parents show up.

Sarah has only spoken once on Lloyd In Space. That changed somewhat in light of the events of "Esteemers" which shows that Sarah is just as flawed as everyone else when she gets herself sucked into Eddie and Virgil's bickering. It takes Frank and Jane to show both of them just how foolishly they were acting and made everybody else on campus vow to never let their rivalries mirror that of Eddie and Virgil.

Trivia: Sarah's voice is performed by Rita Pietropinto who also voiced Amy Barkdale in Daria and Frank is voiced by Clancy Brown who also voiced him in Lloyd In Space.

Britney

Britney first appeared in "There's Something About Eddie" as a Fashion Club hopeful. She started out by sporting a new nose thanks to plastic surgery from Dr. Shar and progressed to "full, pouty lips" (thanks to injections of fat from her butt) and a sculpted waistline, all of which sparked a plastic surgery craze (and a case of cuteness envy in Kelly). Her hopes to get herself into the Fashion Club were dashed, however, when her new nose "caved in" and the fat from her upper lip migrated to her bottom lip (making her look like "one of those beer dogs on TV").

Britney's only other appearance was in "Your Cheatin' Heart" as one of the students admiring Sally's first attempt to dump Larry for Virgil. It's probably no coincidence that both of Britney's appearances were in episodes where body image was the central theme.

Claude, Romonica, and General Buck Conroy

In the episode "Model Spy", Romonica DeGregory and her assistant, Claude, arrived at Space City College to recruit potential models for their modeling agency (thanks to a letter from Sally and with Dean Burishnakauv's blessing). Eddie saw them for what they were: smarmy, self-important poseurs and while he probably would've been content to ignore them forever, his dislike of their attempt to draw people (including Kelly) into their sordid world spurred her into action. That action was to anonymously invite General Buck Conroy and his mercenary army-for-hire to the school for their own little recruitment drive, complete with attention from the local news media. It worked: Dean Burishnakauv backed off as did Claude and Romonica who ended up stuck with the clueless Larry.

Terry DeWitt

Terry DeWitt, a student at Space City College, is the extreme example of every child who's lived a sheltered lifestyle. He's energetic, enthusiastic and exceedingly nice but also very naive and almost completely ignorant of the outside world. (He's never watched television, listened to rock and roll music, eaten pizza or chewed gum and had been home schooled by his rabidly overprotective parents until he convinced them to let him attend college.)

Terry has the distinction of being Eddie's first "Geeky" friend after Douglas McNoggin. They met in the episode "Best Friends Forever" when Eddie decided to give Virgil a taste of his own medicene. Unfortunately, by introducing him to pizza, gum, the Zapper Bros and video games, Eddie corrupted his sheltered existence and inadvertantly propelled him into the popular crowd (much to the dismay of his parents, Leslie and Grant DeWitt).

Terry's other appearances to date are in the episodes "Planet 46" (non-speaking) and "The Fraternity Haunt" where he took a snapshot of Eddie and Terri as a "cute couple" for the school yearbook. (He escapes before Eddie can tell him that they weren't a couple... at least for the moment.)

Status after his last appearence: Presumably, Terry became a background character. His College Years of Eddie Horton plans are never revealed.

Erin McKay

Erin McKay was seen in "The Dance" where she was dancing with Virgil. Thanks to Eddie and Virgil's first arguement, Erin and Jane ended up dancing together allowing everyone else to witness first-hand the very first fight between Eddie and Virgil. It was at the dance that Eddie met his arch rival, Virgil who made Eddie look like Austin Powers. Although she was not seen again, Erin was mentioned in two subsequent episodes. In "Space City Traitor", we learn that she is left handed; turns out, Erin only dated Virgil once because he disected her frog in Sceince class. This lead to the start of a rivalry between her and Jane in "Eddie's Luck" which ultimately kicked off when Erin called Jane a fat butthead (courtesy of Virgil and Eddie's arguing).

Trivia: Though Erin's full name is never explicitly mentioned in "The Dance", Virgil tells Eddie that her middle name is Sarah. Given that, it's reasonable to assume that her full name is Erin Sarah McKay.

The Guptys
(Lester, Lauren, Tad and Tricia)

You aren't going to find a family that's more nauseatingly nice than the Guptys. Lester and Lauren decorate their house (both inside and out) with the most creepily cute things they can get and their children, Tad and Tricia, are the most sickeningly sweet kids you'll ever meet.

In "Eddie's Choice", we meet the Guptys for the first time. Kelly is their regular babysitter but when she double-books her dates, she foists the job off on Eddie. The dread that Eddie feels doesn't nearly match the reality, however, as he finds that Tad and Tricia don't want to do anything except discuss current events, floss their teeth, braid his hair, shine his shoes and play a self-esteem record over and over, ad nauseum. (Eddie can't even watch Space Goings On; their parents had locked the cable box on the Forecast Channel!) Finally, with a little help from Jane, Eddie breaks through to the kids and teaches them to think for themselves and to question authority... a development that shocks their unsuspecting parents.

Interestingly, Lauren and Lester Gupty had non-speaking roles in the episode "Esteemers" when Eddie arrived at Space City College... a full 14 episodes before they're officially introduced. The Guptys also appeared in the episode "Bad Boy" where Eddie had to help a lost Tad find his parents during Space City College's homecoming parade. (Unfortunately, this episode seems to suggest that the "deprogramming" of Tad and Tricia didn't hold for very long as they're both back to their cute and perfect ways.)

Mrs. Johansen

Mrs. Johansen, the morbidly obese, mumu-wearing hypoglycemic, first appeared in "The Problemo" when Eddie and Jane attempted to raise funds for the coffeehouse. In the midst of trying to buy candy bars, Mrs. Johansen suffered a hypoglycemic attack and fainted; Eddie and Jane refused to sell her the candy because even her offer of $5.00 a bar wasn't worth killing her with the chocolate.

Her other apperances were at the flea market in "The Swinging Sixties"; as a victim of the Fashion Club's attempt at charity work in "Your Cheatin' Heart"; as a psychiatric patient in "The Music Video" and, finally, as a shopper (and competitor for free snacks against the 3 Js) at the Pay Day warehouse store in "Power Outage".

For such a heavy woman, she sure does get around!

Lindy

Kelly's friend Lindy was introduced in "Bad Boy". Lindy was the hostess at Governor's Park restaurant when Kelly applied for a job and both girls hit it off immediately. Being a college student, Lindy provided Kelly with a taste of what life was like after high school.

Unfortunately, Kelly also discovered Lindy's biggest weakness: alcohol. Lindy would take any opportunity she could to have a drink: parties, the movies, even her job. Unfortunately, this last one proved to be her undoing as she was fired when her manager after several customer complaints, discovered the screwdriver she had concealed in a coffee mug (which she had half-heartedly tried to pin on Kelly).

After a talk with Eddie about being honest with people, Kelly finally confronted Lindy about her drinking. Her reward was to get thrown out of Lindy's house, complete with a lecture from Lindy about how she "didn't have a problem." Eventually, Lindy went to see Kelly to make amends and while she didn't come right out and admit she had a drinking problem, it was enough for Kelly to decide to remain friends with her (and possibly help her if/when she needs it).

The Lloyd Nebulon Five
(Lloyd and four other band members)

The grunge rock band the Lloyd Nebulon Five is composed of guitarist and vocalist Lloyd P. Nebulon and four of his Hyper Space College pals. Their dream, like those of every other band, is to make it big but so far, their fame hasn't extended beyond the Zon, McGrundy's Pub and the occasional small gig (but at least they aren't a Doors cover band playing brew pubs; no, sir, they're an all-original band playing brew pubs).

Lloyd's rythm guitarist isn't exactly what you'd call the sharpest knife in the drawer. Look beyond his beefcake build and his leather pants and vest (but no shirt) and you'll find... well, not much, actually. He talks like a stoner, his most profound thought is "cool" and he gives Lloyd a run for his money in the sleeping department. The group's only appearance was in "Eddie's Song" where Eddie and Jane saw the at the Pardise Zoomer singing Dangerous Game.

Not much is known about the keyboard player and bass player but the drummer is definitely a colorful guy. He fancies himself and the rest of the band as outlaws and "criminales" but an encounter with their Dean put the lie to that one (he turned into a blubbering wreck) and after being made a "junior deputy" -- complete with toy badge -- we see he's actually just a kid at heart.

Trivia:

Lloyd's sister Francine is in charge of the Lloyd Nebulon Five's fan club (such as it is).

Marianne

Marianne is Dean Burishnakauv's highly overworked and put-upon secretary. In addition to the usual duties of a secretary, Marianne's job also seems to consist of endless amounts of typing, coupled with listening to the Dean's rants about the students, his job and his life in general. Whatever Marianne's salary is, it's a good bet that she's waaay underpaid for what she has to put up with.

Marianne's first appearance was in "The Dance" where she could be seen typing away in the foreground as the Dean talks on the phone. Her first speaking appearance was in "There's Something About Eddie" where she fielded calls from the school as Dean Burishnakauv paced and ranted in the background.

Monique

Monique is Trent's on-again, off-again girlfriend. Very little is known about her except that she's in a band called the Harpies (but dreams of going solo), she has an affinity for piercings (particularly nose rings) and she and Trent break up and get back together every other week. Monique was first seen in "The Problemo" when she dropped by Axl's Piercing Parlor while Eddie and Jane were there. Her only other appearance was in "Eddie's Choice" when she showed up to take Trent out while he and Jane were talking to Eddie.

Tommy Sherman

Every high school has at least one obnoxious alumni; Tommy Sherman counts as five of 'em. In "Planet 46", we meet the football hero when he returns to the school for a ceremony dedicating a new goalpost in his name. (It's a fitting tribute; when he was playing, he loved the attention of the crowd so much that he insisted on running every touchdown himself. Unfortunately, he'd get so distracted that he'd run right into the goalpost.)

Tommy took obnoxiousness to new highs (lows?) as he propositioned the girls with lewd come-ons and casually insulted those he felt were beneath him (which was pretty much everyone). Eddie, having witnessed all of this, finally could stand no more and told him what to go do with himself. He managed to throw a few zingers her way but he had little time to savor his small victory before the heavy crate containing the new goalpost accidentally fell on him and killed him.

Even though Tommy himself was gone, his spirit lived on in "F.A.B, Eddie". In that episode, Larry plows his motorcycle into the Tommy Sherman Memorial Tree and injures his knee. With Larry gone and the team sucking badly, the cheerleaders attempt to exorcise the spirit of Tommmy Sherman (thinking that his presence is cursing the team) with a bathroom seance which Eddie and Jane inadvertantly break up when their voices drift into the bathroom via the ventilation shaft and freak the girls out.

David Sorenson, Daniel Dotson, and Alison

David, Daniel and Alison were introduced in "The Problemo" and though they never appeared in any other episode, each ultimately played an important part in the development of Jane and Kelly's characters.

David Sorenson is in the same dorm as Eddie. Reluctant at first, Kelly soon warmed up to him as he helped her discover that being smart wasn't as bad as she had always thought. Eventually, Kelly became attracted to him and asked him out but was heartbroken when David gently turned her down, saying that although she's made remarkable strides, he prefers women with "a certain amount of depth." David was voiced by Carson Daly, late-night talk show host and former host of MTV's Total Request Live.

Daniel Dotson was the guest artist at the Intrepidville art colony where Jane was staying over the summer. A pompous, egotistical, skirt-chasing hack, Daniel was living proof that even in the art world, poseurs and losers were alive and thriving. Daniel was voiced by musician David Grohl, guitarist for both Nirvana and the Foo Fighters.

Alison, a fellow artist, immediately became friends with Jane when they both derided one of Daniel Dotson's pretentious presentations. Being on the outs with Eddie, Jane was eager to accept Alison's friendship only to end up getting stabbed in the back twice: first, Alison attempts to get her drunk and take advantage of her and then, when they try to make amends, Alison reveals that she's sleeping with Daniel Dotson in order to further her career. Alison was voiced by musician Bif Naked who also appears to have been the influence for Alison's character design.

Trivia: "The Problemo" was the only time that "stunt casting" was used in the show.

The Yeagers
(Willow, Coyote, and Ethan)

Willow and Coyote , along with their son Ethan were introduced in "Eddie's Choice" as old friends of Prof. Berker. They made no other appearances on the show.

Driving their spaceship, wearing clothing straight out of the Free Love era and doting on their dog Leary (their third since the late '60s), Willow and Coyote represent Prof. Berker's hippie past... only Helen and Jake have moved on while Willow and Coyote seem stuck in the Woodstock era. Their visit, complete with reminisces about the past was a painful reminder of just how far Prof. Berker had strayed from the idealism of her youth. (Ethan caused his own brand of mischief by driving a smitten buch of College girls crazy with his total disinterest in them, no matter how hard they threw themselves at him.)

As it turned out, Prof. Berker's agonizing over their lost ideals was for naught as Willow and Coyote ultimately confessed how sick they had become of living in the past. Prof. Berker were only too happy to oblige their desire to move into the present while Ethan relented and took Kelly out for a snack (and provided her with some good dirt on Prof. Berker, info that she ultimately shared with Eddie to their mutual advantage.).

The Westlakes

The Westlakes are one of the wealthiest and most promiment families in Space City, a fact that causes envy in some (Frank and Sarah Hortonr) and discomfort in others (Eddie and Jane). Their first appearance was in "Cheery Feerlap, Edide Horton?"

Angier is one of the partners in Grace, Westlake & Page, which is apparently some kind of investment firm (Eddie jokes about "insider trading" when meeting Terri for the first time). He's friends with Judy's father, who himself is no slouch in the success department.

Katherine ("Kay") is on the board of the Space City Art Museum and appears to be responsible for organizing the museum's fundraising events. She genuinely likes Eddie and doesn't seem to mind that her son attends Space City College.

Elsie is Terri's cynical and sarcastic sister. Like Terri, she apparently doesn't care much for her family's forays into "the land of the Muffys" (as Jane puts it), but unlike Terri, she's more outspoken about it.

An unnamed uncle was also seen in "Cheery Feerlap, Eddie Horton" in Terri's Feerlap flashback. In the scene where Terri is talking to Eddie on the phone, he can be seen in the background decorating the tree.
