I just want to see how many other people would like to see Password revived somehow, somewhere, someday. Personally I think it ranks right there at the top. It's got a timeless format that can easily be tweaked to draw people's interest and produce an exciting matchup without losing the integrity and basic objective of the game. Even with a minimal ($10K or so) payout, I think people would still be lining up for the opportunity to watch... and play. As long as they keep it simple. Last week I saw a rerun of the original Password (with Frank Gorshin, bless his soul) and not only was it hilarious, but the gameplay really held up! I've been catching the reruns of Super Password and Password Plus (my personal fave) on GSN, and they still hold up as well as ever.
Example: when Pyramid (Donny Osmond's version) came on, I didn't think it would do the previous versions justice, but I can honestly say that it did and then some. It's been 16 years already. Password and Pyramid are very similar. Why couldn't Password survive and thrive for a new generation?

I agree with you. I was thinking about Password the other day and bought a copy of the game. Its still fun. I hope they bring it back.
I miss games show, they need to bring them back. PIR is the only one on during the daytime.

I would love to see a revival of Password, but you said the key words...."format that can be tweaked". The format of Pyramid was tweaked a little bit too much for my likings as well as several others. I am a huge Pyramid fan, and was very disappointed in the revival and was not upset at all when it was cancelled. I waited 10+ years for a revival and it wasn't even worth it. I think if you tweak with the format too much, you lose your audience that made the show as popular as it was in its day. If a revival were done, the $$ figures could be changed for todays times, but don't mess with something that isn't broken.

Password was the best gameshow ever when the players were good (e.g. Betty White). I really enjoyed playing along, as well as playing the home version.
Alternatively, it could be the most painful show to watch if the players were bad. It seemed that the later shows had more bad (read:dumb) players than the earlier episodes. If that's an indication of the population's "dumbing down" over the years, then I would be afraid to see a new version of that classic show! ;)

I really miss Password too. I don't get to watch it often like I want to. But I did see it this weekend. I like Alan instead of the guy who takes his place when Alan can't be there. It's really upseting that it isn't on everyday according to Direct TV. But it is on like 2am and 3am in the morning. But that's when I'm a sleep.
