SHIELDS ATTACKS CRUISE FOR CRITICISING HER DRUG USE

LATEST: Actress BROOKE SHIELDS has lambasted former pal TOM CRUISE for criticising her "misguided" use of drugs to combat her post-natal depression.

Cruise - who claims to have helped people fight drug addictions through his controversial Scientology religion - recently attacked the SUDDENLY SUSAN star for becoming dependant on Paxil, following the birth of her daughter ROWAN.

But Shields is disgusted by the TOP GUN star's "dangerous" comments and took a swipe at his Scientology beliefs, by saying she wouldn't take advice from someone who devotes his life to creatures from outer space.

She fumes, "His comments are dangerous. He should stick to saving the world from aliens.
Shields is currently weaning herself off her medication so she and husband CHRIS HENCHY can have another child.

Its not a rivalry - they're not in competition for audiences.

I don't blame Brooke one bit and am glad she's spoken up and defended herself. He's the one that embarrassed a "friend" in the press. Hopefully he'll get the message (I'm sure his website has been inundated with pissed off fans) and just shut up and stick to his alien religion.

Way way back in 1969 when I had my first baby( I was only 19) I had what is now called post-mortum depression. In those days there was no such thing! I thought I was a terrible human being for feeling this way. I cried all the time and thought that there was something totally wrong with me! I had this beautiful baby girl and I thought that my life as I knew it would never be the same. It wasn't of course. But luckily I and my lovely daughter survived. I was so young. Nobody understood my depression and I tried to hide it. But now my daughter is a beautiful 35 year old woman with a husband and two gorgeous children. I am so grateful for them! Tom Cruise is an idiot. Yes, postmortum depression is a real thing. I support Brooke and Marie Osmond (who had a severe case) totally. I was strong enough to overcome this on my own but I realize that that not all women can.
I can only say that please support these women! This can be a very real problem. Please help them!

lol...I think you mean post-partum. Post-mortum would mean you were dead. And that you were a ghost using the internet...which would actually be pretty cool. :D

But I totally agree. I think PPD is one of those things that a lot of women don't want to talk about, and it's more prevalent than you think. But just like all other depressions, people without it don't understand it at all.

Go, Brooke!! I've always liked her. I practically grew up with her, not physically but she's only a month younger than me, so I've followed her career since she started in movies.

I like how the article read 'former pal' Tom Cruise. Who knew they were even friends to begin with?

BTW, I told my sister about this and she's a pharmacy tech and knows an awful lot about meds and she told me that you can't become addicted to Paxil. What do I know? I guess I've been lucky that I haven't had to take anything like that.

That's what my Dr. told me too. It just hurts to go off of it because it affects brain chemicals, that's why you can't cold turkey quit it.

I have been on anti-depressants for a couple years, and when I heard Tom Cruise made those comments about Brooke, it really pissed me off. If it weren't for anti-depressants, I don't know where I'd be today, but I can guarantee you, I wouldn't be in nearly as good of a place as I am now. I applaud Brooke for standing up for herself!! I just hope Tom doesn't get his new girlfriend to buy into that Scientology crap. Hopefully she's not so in love, that she's willing to abandon her Faith, just to make him happy.

Actually, the killer is that these drugs aren't even addictive or habit forming. They misinterpreted that also - people aren't hooked on them, but you just need to be weaned off of them so that it doesn't trigger another chemical imbalance in the brain - that's all. I ran out of my prescription and couldn't get to the doctor for a session and renewal, but felt good enough anyway. I didn't even get into any problems going off cold turkey, but I think I was just lucky.

Tom has no idea of what he's talking about here.

Actress BROOKE SHIELDS and TOM CRUISE's ongoing feud has intensified - after the SUDDENLY SUSAN star mocked the16 year age-gap between the actor and his new girlfriend KATIE HOLMES.

Cruise - who has helped people fight drug addictions through his controversial Scientology religion - recently attacked Shields for becoming dependant on anti-depressant Paxil, following the birth of her daughter ROWAN.

And Shields has continued her war of words against Cruise following his "dangerous" comments, by offering him a child ticket so he can take Holmes to see her in hit London musical CHICAGO.

She says, "If he wants to see Chicago, I've left him two tickets - one adult, one child."

The actress recently took a swipe at Cruise's religious beliefs, by saying she wouldn't take advice from someone who devotes his life to aliens.

I'd love to see a "friend" of his come forward and blab to the media something quite personal like his bout with jock-itch or clap and how all he needed was mind over matter to get over it! Dork! :p

I heard on a talk show that Cruise let go his longtime manager. This manager always advised him that it was in the best interest of his career if he didn't preach about Scientology.

That manager was replaced with Cruise's sister, who is into Scientology herself. This may explain his sudden behavior change. He came out of the starting gate running on all fours. Looks like it's backfiring.

One thing about Brooke Shields, she's extremely likable. If you didn't watch her grow up, you grew up with her. She's a little treasure. It's almost impossible to dislike her.

Cruise chose the wrong person as his pet project.

They broke him down

I had to go to one of the movie sites to get his name. He was credited 18th in the cast and he played a character named Billy. Thats probably where their friendship started.
