MsOrange 05-29-2005, 08:34 AM after loosing my weight last year, i noticed some stretch marks on my legs and the lower part of my tummy... i was wondering if anyone knew any good stuff to put on them to get rid of them? i've heard of several different products and was wanting to know if anyone here had tried any....

¤I Love Clay Aiken¤ 05-29-2005, 10:08 AM Stretch mark creams dont work. Ive never tried them, but thats what all the magazines say. You can get laser surgery if theyre that bad, or maybe try a self tanner? How much weight did you lose? How did you do it?

Why is everybody looking at me?
Kay Scarpetta 05-29-2005, 11:15 AM Hmm, I had stretch marks on my stomach last year after losing a few pounds (maybe 5-10?) and they were there for a month or so, but then they disappeared on their own. I probably gained the weight back

laceyinthesky 05-29-2005, 11:41 AM There aren't any creams that will actually get rid of stretch marks, no matter what they say. Unless you don't want to go under the knife or have any type of laser thing done, the only thing you can do is wait for them to fade.

Man, you make a few thousand smart ass comments and you're labeled for life...

PZelda 05-29-2005, 01:55 PM I've heard Vitamin E or cocoa oil helps in getting them to fade. Just poke a Vitamin E tablet and put what oozes out, on the stretch marks. Repeat until they go away.
Vitamin E is supposed to help with getting scars to fade, as well. :)
*MIBabe03* 05-29-2005, 02:05 PM I have no idea. That's kind of strange, I've lost about 55 Ibs, and my stretch marks are slowly going away.

And how did you lose 55 lbs?! How long did it take? Damn I need motivation to get back on track.

Believe me, you don't want the kind of "motivation" that I recieved. This past December my doctor told me that I'm Diabetic and that I have to lose the weight, or end up taking Insulin shots for the rest of my life. I had a nutritionist, who put me on basically 5 grams of fat and 45 grams of carbs per meal. I stick as closely to that as possible. I've noticed that in my case, if I eat either too much fat or too many carbs, my sugar levels increase. Now I also exercise too. I walk 3 miles every morning.

Agh so do I. Seriously I think all I did today was binge and sleep. I'm eating an English muffin with butter on it right now. I'm starting to eat unhealthy crap at night again too. I think it's becasue I have been really depressed lately. I wouldn't be surprised if I gained all my weight back. I'm not touching the scale with a ten foot pole.
MaydayMalonesGirl 05-29-2005, 08:28 PM Uggh, I have stretch marks on the back of my legs and on my hips. I've never been overweight or anything like that... I think I got them because I've grown so dramatically in the past few years (I'm 14 and about 5'8)
My dad bought me this expensive cream which has worked a little bit. I don't knowww.

Sucks, dont it? Ive lost 25 pounds since January and I was doing so well, but ugh. These past few weeks Ive done HORRIBLE. Ill do good during the day, then I get home and.. it wall goes to waste. I hate it. And I havent exercised in forever either. Ive been really rundown and tired though too, so that doesnt help. Ive already decided though that tomorrow I get serious. Im not gonna give it all up.

Good luck. :) All I have lost, according to the last time I stepped on the scale was 10 pounds and up until then I have not been eating sweets and excersising at least every other day for 30 min to an hour since like February. Having a slow metabolism sucks

My eating habits and exercising pretty much went out the window after last Saturday (the 21st) because I got into a nasty biking accident and sprained my wrist. It made it especially difficult to exercise and to prepare meals with a sprained wrist and being home alone 80% of the time. Didn't help things any that the weather for the last week was crappy.
Yesterday and today was better, tho. My wrist finally feels better...not completely healed, but I went all day w/o wearing an Ace bandage and I went biking today, like 8 to 10 miles. It felt so good to get out of the house again. :D
MsOrange 05-29-2005, 10:22 PM well i looked into that mederma stuff... IT'S 15 DOLLASR FOR A 6OZ TUBE... heck no! i'll wear a jogging suit as a bathing suit before I pay that!!!
so creams do'nt work, huh? well, defitley no surgery... maybe they'll start to fade w/ time... about how long does it take them to fade?
and the question of how i lost my weight, I just dieted (i do Weight Watchers) and I exercise, all though I haven't been very regular w/ my exercising the past month; I have really got to get back on track w/ that, but w/ summer school starting up i've just had problems mangaing my time... exuses, exuses, i know, i know :( but oh well!
I like Weight Watchers--I feel like i'm actually being accounted for my weight cause I have someone to answer to every week @ Weigh Ins, so that helps me! JUST DO'NT GIVE UP!!

Yay! Well, if that ever happens again, walking is good too. :)

MEANGYA I'd rather walk on my mom's treadmill before I walk outside (and I HATE treadmills). The last week, there were gusts up to 40-50MPH. No thanks, I'll pass. :o

It also takes MONTHS AND MONTHS for it to work.
I have stretch marks on the inside of my legs and on my hips and they've never faded in all these years that I've had them. My skin doesn't heal at all.

Walking on a treadmill is better than just on flat ground because it's more strenuous.
