That would be Molly Hagan. She's appeared in several series, and starred in a few as well.

You can read her imdb bio here (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0353243/)

Does anyone else find her performance a little, well, off? In this way: Harold Gould and Betty White do a pretty good job of showing chemistry between Rose and Miles; Rue, Betty, Estelle, and Bea make us believe the girls care for each other (even though they're always trading barbs - it's an odd idea of friendship, in my opinion) but I digress. My main point is, I really don't get any feeling of fatherly-daughterly love between Molly Hagan and Harold Gould. I've seen it speculated elsewhere that "Caroline" is a really an FBI agent keeping on eye on a witness in the witness protection program, and checking out who he's getting close to. Something about Hagan's performance makes that believable. Besides the fact that someone in hiding shouldn't have been in touch with his daughter. That part actually didn't bother me so much - I always thought the daughter could be in hiding from the Cheeseman and the rest of the world, too. Her name just wouldn't really have been Caroline.

And then, it's odd that, if Miles had lost a wife a year before meeting Rose, we never heard anything about her (or ever heard of Caroline again.) Meanwhile, Charlie Nyland has been gone a lot longer, and Rose is still obsessed enough with him to give Miles some uncomfortable moments.

One more thing about "Triple Play." When Lifetime was showing Golden Girls, they had some lengthy episode summaries. The summary of "Triple Play" says that Rose tells Caroline her name is in a song: "I am a rock, I am a Nyland." But I've never seen that in the episode. Editing?
