View Full Version : Cory and Shawn in the Girls' Restroom?
Dr. Zeus 05-26-2005, 04:29 PM I was watching an episode of Boy Meets World in which Topanga was overly concerned about her appearance, her hair mostly, and there were a couple of scenes which Cory and Shawn were in the girls' restroom. What were those two thinking? Have they no shame in violating the girls' privacy? The sign on the door clearly says "GIRLS", not "BOYS". Boy, they should be in BIG trouble for going in a room where they shouldn't be. If I'd seen them going in that restroom, I would have to report them to the principal, who would send a woman teacher or security guard to fish them out.
When I was in high school, I actually saw a couple of guys going into the girls' restroom, and I had to report them to the dean, Ms. Parker, and she had to deal with the situation. Watching this episode of BMW reminds me of that past situation.

spunkygirl 05-26-2005, 05:22 PM Oh yeah, you must be talking about the episode "Hair Today, Goon Tomorrow"
Yeah if they'd gotten caught by Feeny they probably would have gotten in big trouble, but considering the great guy Feeny was, he might have let it slide, since they were trying to help Topanga with a personal problem :)
Dr. Zeus 05-26-2005, 08:13 PM If I were Feeney, I would commend the boys for helping Topanga's personal problem about her hair, but unfortunately, I would have to give them detention for being in a room where they shouldn't be. The Girls' Restroom means only girls and women are allowed in, not boys and men. Why do you think they have separate restrooms?
Dr. Zeus
Coory 05-26-2005, 10:09 PM I liked "Hair Today Goon Tomorrow." Anyways everybody by now know Feeny would let Cory and Shawn slide just a little bit more then other students.
Rachel3118 08-16-2005, 01:44 PM I don't think it was such a big deal since they were helping Tapanga.
Dr. Zeus 08-18-2005, 03:49 AM Actually, I think it is a very big deal about Cory and Shawn's going into the girls' restroom because they should never have set foot in that room in the first place. I don't mind them helping Topanga with a personal problems, but those boys should have chosen a better place than the Girls' Restroom. Boys and men are not allowed in the girls' restroom, period. Same thing applies to girls and women are not allowed in the boys' restroom, whether in a TV show or in real life.
Dr. Zeus
spunkygirl 08-18-2005, 10:17 AM It's no big deal, it's only a tvshow, not real life ;) Besides they were helping Topanga, so I consider it a special circumstance. It's not like they made a habit of going into the girls restroom
Clockworx 08-18-2005, 11:04 PM I agree with you Zeus about how guys shouldnt enter a girls bathroom but it was a TV show and i think you are overracting.......Maybe you had a personal problem in your past having to do with boy's going into a girl's restroom but you gotta understand that it was fake and move on.
Dr. Zeus 08-23-2005, 01:59 AM Clockworx, as I have mentioned in my earlier post, watching that particular BMW episode reminded of a past incident that occurred when I was in high school a long time ago. When I was in high school, I saw two guys going into the girls' restroom, and I had to report them to Ms. Parker, who was the dean of my school. I couldn't go into that restroom because I was a male student, and I didn't want to get into trouble. I was only doing my duty as a student and as a citizen. Those guys had no business going into the girls' restroom.
When I was watching that BMW episode, I was shocked when Cory and Shawn went into the Girls' restroom. They, too, had no business being in that restroom. If I were a character in that show, I would have to report them as well.
Do you understand my reactions?

To some extent, but IMO you seem to be acting like this is real life. It's just a Fictional tv show ;)
Dr. Zeus 08-24-2005, 12:34 AM It may be only a fictional TV Show, but some TV situations are like real life situations. I still don't think it is right for boys and men to be in a girls restroom and vice-versa. That is a violation of somebody else's privacy, even when a restroom is vacant.
I wasn't a "tattle tale" when I had to report those guys to the dean for their going into the girls' restroom. The dean, my parents, my counselor, my teachers, and my friends said that I did the right thing for doing what I did. I haven't regretted it since then.
Whether on television or in real life, a restroom is a private place for certain people to go to. Separate restrooms for boys/men and girls/women are made for people to obey the rules, no matter what.

Rachel3118 08-25-2005, 04:53 PM It's just a television show, and it wasn't even the main point of the show. The producers probably didn't even think about them being in there
DukeDevils9192 08-26-2005, 01:18 PM Dr. Zeus, I bet you were a very popular kid in school, huh?

 Where did you get that assumption from?

LOL........Right........The dude is either messing around or is messed up.
Sheriff Andy Taylor 02-04-2006, 01:37 AM Frankly, I agree what Dr. Zeus said about that certain episode of Boy Meets World, "Hair Today, Goon Tomorrow," and why it reminded him of an incident that occurred when he was in high school. I strongly believe that Zeus did the right thing after he saw a couple of guys going into the girls' restroom, and he had to report them to the dean.
Even though it was only a TV show, Cory and Shawn should never have gone to the girls' restroom even though they were helping Topanga with a personal problem. Those guys should've chosen a better place and time to do this.
After all, there are real-life situations that are used on television, whether it's a sitcom, drama, or any type of program. Way to go, Zeus!
