one of my friends is turning me onto these guys, has anyone else heard them?

What do you think in general about rock bands such as Bravery, The Killers and Franz Ferdinand? I think these groups really kick ass and I think are the real "new invasion" for rock bands, we can on;y deal with enough indie wannabes and rap-rockers and punk poseurs. These guys are bringing "new rock" that actually does rock to older rock fans from 24-40, in a way that groups like Simple Plan could never dream of. The obvious 80's influences on these bands are making them palatable to an older audience that usually doesn't listen to the current state of rock bands.

Franz Ferdinand is an appropriate name for a rock band at a time when rock is about to completely disappear. It was the name of the Austrian archduke whose assassination led to World War I - after which the Austrian empire disappeared! :eek:

Yeah, I've heard them a few months back. They remind me alot of The Killers.
