Why are certain people allowed to drive a car?! I'm so sick of the impatient jerks who drive aggressively, won't let you pull in or out of a driveway or parking lot, tailgate, run red lights, throw trash out the window, and go far over the speed limit and all the other stuff that those self-centered people do. They act like they're V.I.P.'S who's time is far more important than anyone else's. Then there are those people who talk on the phone and do other things that distract them from driving. What really disgusts me is when the cops are out on the road and they don't do a darn thing about these drivers. What exactly are we paying these people for, huh? Go after some of these egotistical jerks for once!

   I really just needed to vent.

I know exactly what you mean :grr: Maybe we live in the same town? Everyone here has a cellphone and they all have to yakk away while driving  People don't have other times to talk?? What is it so important that you can't pay attention to the road ahead of you when everyone's life it's at stake?
Why some people drive at 25mph in a 45 mph zone when it's not a funeral?
People that turn their blinkers right when they are going to turn or are too distracted when the light changes and just sit there. All that aggravates my ulcers!!

My two biggest complaints:
1. The boneheads who drive mile after mile without using turn signals. I think there should be a law- a driver who does that (not using turn signals when they make many turns) should have there car impounded for one week. Pass that law, and you'll see everyone suddenly using signals!

2. Those who take forever to pull away when the light turns green. I can actually get across an intersection faster on my bicycle than many drivers in their cars. But I do realize that most of today's tiny engines don't have much low-end torque. My Cadillacs' 525 ft/lbs of torque make those cars jump right ahead from a dead stop.

And to think, I can legally drive a car this Sunday, at 5:03 PM.

Better watch out for the white Buick Park Ave...

I have noticed around here a lot lately that more and more "morons" are crossing the center line (mostly while on the phone). It's a jungle out there!

That's fine Fleet but there have to be cops out there to catch them. I have observed here in Michigan traveling north on I-75 on weekends, where there are aways construction zones, and there are signs reading "Hit a worker and get a 7500.00 fine." I swear that I have never seen 1 single cop in these construction zones where we always go at the posted speed but everyone else is passing us by!

Well, they can watch for violaters while looking out the windows at donut shops!

Cops don't do anything. In fact, there have been many occasions when I've seen Police vehicles run red lights, turn without signaling, and they're are more often than not speeding faster than anybody else.

I guess when you're the law, you get to make your own rules!

Yeah, that's true. I've seen the same thing. You would think the cops would set a good example.

I know the feeling… I can go on and on over venting about lousy drivers.

And to think – I’ve heard from so many people living in and from another state that New Mexico is the worst state with worst drivers! I see it ALL the time! Out of town people have joked asking, “Are blinker lights optional in this state?” It’s so true! Can’t people just FOLLOW the rules! Argh!!

I know one thing for sure...North Dakota has the worst seat belt usage in the nation. At least, that was the case a few years ago. I don't know if it's still like that now. No wonder so many young kids die in car accidents up here! I knew...let me see, 3 kids that died in car accidents in less than 1.5 years.

Personally, i think the drivers test is too easy.

When i took my drivers test, the instructor made me go around the block, come back and do some parallel parking around the facillity. thats it!
Thats one of the reasons you have some moronic drivers!!!
Cell phone drivers are the worst.

You make a point about the driver test being too easy, Moeee.

I am all for having people taking a long driving and written test everytime someone renews their license. They should do that instead of just paying money, taking a picture, and getting an eye exam. Puh!

That may be wise, but what a hassle that'll be!

Yeah, cellphone drivers ARE the worst. I firmly believe they are the worst especially when socializing while driving as though they were in their living room. It's like tuning the CD player/radio station.

That's the point. The stricter and difficult it is, the more it can be taken seriously. People would HAVE to study their manuals and be tested in order for the rules to stick in their head. They say if you do something nine times in a row, it's harder to forget. If it's "that easy" using the normal way, then almost anyone can just renew their license.

I think a lot of those people really do know what the rules are. They just think they are personally exempt from them.

Texas has the worst drivers ever. I don't think they know what a turn signal is, to them it's probably just another lever. Plus somebody is always shooting somebody else here too. It's usually for cutting them off, which is stupid because if they would use their turn signal, they might not have that problem.

I hate bad drivers just as much as the next person does, but what I REALLY can't stand are pedestrians who think they OWN the road and that they ALWAYS have the right of way.

Like when you're driving and then suddenly someone walks into the the street to cross it like they except you to slow down! HELLO?! I'm NOT going to slow down UNLESS there's a sign that says "watch for ped.." or if they are crossing at a crosswalk. I swear someday I'm going to speed up and hit someone because of stupid and ignorant pedestrians.

Or..... when you're driving in a parking lot and a person or people are walking in the middle of the road right in front of you and will just not move to the side.

I hate driving. After reading this I don't want drive anywhere. I do notice on two way lanes, more people are drifting over the center yellow line. I do hope in my lifetime a new way of transportation comes. I would love to fly a low flying plane to get to places. There are just too many cars on the road. Some people are nervous nellies, like me or the highways are outdated. Driiving is no fun. The older I get the more I hate it. Sad for I live a half hour to 3/4hr from good grocery stores, department stores and a better job. What shall I do?

That's one reason why I'm a little scared to drive. Plus, I'm careless sometimes and I have NO sense of direction!

I totally agree about taking the driving test and written test every single time but what would be the point? The person will drive really well just to get the license, then once they got the license, go back to being an a$$hole on the road. Plus I don't think DMV has the manpower to do driving tests for everybody. Have you ever gone to an DMV where it was empty? That's why they're so slow.

As far as turn signals, what really gets me is a person will lift their arm to change the radio station, lift their arm to drink their coffee, lift their arm to light their cigarette, but can't seem to lift their arm to click on their turn signal.

You're right about that. The way I figure is if these people study hard JUST to pass, they are actually soaking up some of that knowledge unconsciously! It would be just like treating these people like little guinea pigs in an experiment. Maybe subconsciously they will actually follow some rules, if not all.

 I sooooo agree with you there!!! Every other damn thing they can do yet not what they are SUPPOSED to do! So, so true....
