Munsters#1 05-24-2005, 03:39 PM I believe the series was filmed in Hawaii. Céline 05-24-2005, 04:47 PM The pilot episode was filmed in the beautiful island of Kauai in Hawaii. But,the entire series was filmed in the CBS studio L.A. Bonsai 05-24-2005, 07:31 PM The two pilots ("Two on a Raft" and "the unseen pilot") were filmed in Hawaii. The series itself was filmed on two sets at Television City (CBS) in Los Angeles----a large outdoor set where a parking lot was dug up to make the lagoon and its shore...and another set on a soundstage comprised of the huts, the table, and any scenes where they were supposed to be somewhere in the jungle. As many of you have already heard, the lagoon set was very close to the freeway and so those scenes could only be filmed outside of peak traffic hours because the noise would be recorded otherwise. The lagoon no longer exists---I heard somewhere that it has since become a parking lot again. The soundstage was later used by the Mary Tyler Moore Show. I have no idea where they built what, but wouldn't it be funny if Mr. Grant's office was located at the table where the castaways ate or Mary's kitchen was located in the middle of Gilligan and the Skipper's hut? gilligan fanatic 05-24-2005, 08:50 PM The two pilots ("Two on a Raft" and "the unseen pilot") were filmed in Hawaii. It is a better answer than I could have written |
