I am going on a driving trip from Mass to Colorado and on my way I would like to stop at hometown of Lucy. Is there a web site to see to get idea about the area and sites?

You will just love Jamestown! I haven't been back since they brought her back to be buried there but it is so nice there and the people are wonderful. This might sound corny but, I felt her presence with every step I took in that town, I hated to leave. When you visit the museum, I hope you get a chance to meet Ric Wyman, the director of the museum, he is a very sweet guy. I took him one of my drawings and at first I wasn't sure I'd be able to see him because he was busy at the office so one of his assistants took it to him and he made time to come over to the museum just to say thank you and he signed my "For the Love of Lucy" book and even took a picture with me. Super nice guy! Have fun!!

I did indeed see the Musuem. Across the street is a bakery. When Lucy got famous she would have bread sent to her in Hollywood. Around the city there are 3 muruals of lucy scenes. One the vitameatvegamin, another the chocolate conveyer belt, and a postage stamp of lucy. The only thing I was taken back with was the price of post cards. In the gift shop the postcards ,some were of scene of the show, were priced at 75 cents each. I didn't see a price and went to the counter with 6 thinking I pay $1.80 to $2.00 and the clerk says $ 4.50. I said How much were the cards . She said each is 75 cents. That is the most I ever paid for a postcard. They were the normal size. A few days later I traveled to Dayton Ohio and saw the Air Force museum and their cards were 10 cents a piece.

I was so excited when a local bus company offered a trip to Lucy Land in Jamestown, NY. My mom and I signed up and we waited and waited for further information from the bus company, just to find out, when I finally called them, that the tour was cancelled. The woman on the phone told me there was a lack of interest because only 2 people signed up!! I was devastated. I told the woman that the only reason there was a lack of interest in this trip was because gambling was not a part of the trip. She fully agreed. Too bad.

Speaking of gambling, many places on my trip where there was gambling everyone of the places had smoking allowed. The air was awlful. They have a air filter system but I could still smell it. Having a cigarette near my nose didn't make my day. On the other hand Maryanne you saved yourself money not buying the 75c postcards. I must have signed my name and address at the museum for they send me info on upcoming events.
