You won't get any argument from me.
I don't like ticks neither, but at least they can't fly.

Those are probably my least favorite bug.

The other bugs may be unsanitary...But those things are VERY unsanitary and carry around diseases and junk. And that's not even putting into consideration that they make ya itch like heck for days. A few weeks ago when it was really warm out I found one that was roughtly the size of a silver dollar.

I hate them, too. Once when I was like 11 I wouldn't go outside without being covered in an assortment of pool tubes, towels and other various items.

Blackfly season just started here - I hate them as much as mosquitos - especially when they swarm you and go up your nostrils and in your eyes! You have about a 10 minute window outside before they start coming for ya. Makes getting the garden in a lot of fun!

Do you get blackflies up in Alaska? I know the further north you go in Canada, the worse they usually get but that's because of the trees and lack of population more than anything I think.

I love bees!! More those big fuzzy "hummer" ones that going buzzing by slowly, but bees aren't nearly as aggressive as you think. Hornets and wasps are nasty! We've had a few of their nests around the property - and they'll come for ya! Bees will only sting you if you step, sit on them by accident or really annoy them.

I must annoy them. They're always buzzing around my head. I get out of there pretty fast though.

Yea we have a lot of wasps and hornets here too. They're nasty. I've been lucky though. I haven't been stung by one since I was about 7.

This is a little something I wrote a few years back regarding mosquitoes. I haven't encountered them this year because it's been very dry. But what I said seems appropriate.

"They are EEEEEvIIIIL! For centuries they have sucked the blood of us humans for their OWN purposes and expect us to be TRILLED about it! HA! Stupid bugs!

I say DOWN WITH THE VERMIN! They are no good to us!
An hour ago I battled one of them single-handedly and won! Squished 'em, I did! But then another came! I knew I had to retreat! I think I was bit!

Troups! We must NOT surrender! We CAN beat them!

Watch yourselves Men! And good luck!"

I've always loved insects. Even the dangerous ones like black widows and such. But mosquitoes are entirely different. Down with them!

Now, watch yourselves. The night has eyes and one terrible bite!

Yes we have black flys,Bees, hornets are starting to come out,we had a early spring so the insects are early, spiders, sometimes we have a Black Widow, because they come up from the lower 48's,mostly California. Right now at 9 pm it's about 67-70 Degrees. There's also a lot of Ants.

You really must, cuz normally they're not bad little fellas at all! That's like my husband. If one's buzzing around the table, he takes off his flipflop and starts waving it around and trying to smash it - yea, then it does get annoyed!! Best to just ignore them. I'll even let them land on me and just observe them. I've only ever been stung once by a bee - when I stepped on one! (Couldn't blame him - I'd sting too if I could)!
I did get stung last year for the first time by a hornet! That was when the nest got set on fire! Turned out they had built a nest under the poolslide. It must have looked funny to the neighbours with 5 adults running around, waving their arms above their heads like total spazzes!!

I never touch the big fuzzy bees though - they're not even capable of stinging and they're just too cool in those "furry jackets" of theirs!

This is for all the mosquitos, wasps and hornets though :bonk:

I like the fate I give 'em - wait until they get their stinger/sucker in you and then pull the skin around it very tight - they can't pull the stinger out and they blow up!!! Too cool!!

I had always thought that mosquitoes had no good purpose. But they do pollenate very tiny flowers. So that's why they are here. Now ticks on the other hand.........Scientists still have come up with no purpose for them. :D

That's like cockroaches - what purpose do they serve other than spreading disease and being the only things to survive nuclear fallout?

That's good. We don't seem to have a lot of them down here, but when I go up to Michigan for camping I get attacked by them. One time my sister was bored and she counted how many bites I had on one leg. She came up with 25, and that was just on the one leg.

Wow, that would stink :(

Around my homearea, there are only some mosquitoes, but when I go down to my Aunt and Uncles house (they live out in the country), I get attacked by them too :( So it's harder to ride the golf cart.......oh and we have to put on lots of bug spray. But I still seem to get bitten.....my sister gets them like crazy!

That's not entirely true. There are only two thing capable of surviving a nuclear holocaust: Cockroaches and Twinkies.

Twinkies can survive??? Must be that sugar content or something! As Sterling says, guess the roaches would need something to munch on!

Probably the high chemical content! The only natural thing like that is honey. Found in the pyramids, it never goes bad apparently. Still, I don't think I'd want to give it a try!! Same with that twinkie. It would be glowing!
